I’m definitely not saying Peters is bad in any way. Love ‘em.
I was speaking directly to tonight. I just think tonight’s line-up didn’t give the team their best chance to win the game.

I’m betting Bennett was a late scratch. I’d also bet that if we’d had time to get Dube up instead of using 7 defensemen we win this one.

The Flames had 11 forwards on the roster who were available for tonight's game. If you have issue with that, you have issue with management, not Peters.

tough loss... facing one of the best teams in the league, without your #1 center and a guy made for this kind of game in bennett, on the road, was going to be a tough ask
Flames did really well considering I thought...game should have gone calgary's way, but just couldn't finish

7 defencemen?
Quine, and Mangiapane on the PP units? Hell, it’s bad enough when Czarnik is on PP2.
Team worked hard, but this lineup was built to fail. Even with that said, the Flames could have walked out with the W had they not had rotten luck.
|
With 3 forwards down, who else is available?

The Jets don't impress me at all. If Kelly Sutherland doesn't lose his brain we're atleast watching OT right now.

Maybe something to do with filling in the cbc hockey night line up?
It was pretty nutty scheduling. Between the going from Vancouver to Florida on the same trip to this and giving Edmonton 20 games vs tired teams there was very little logic in some decisions

Tough ask to pull out a win there with the elements of a back to back. Fine with the effort.
The Jets aren’t as good as they think they are.

Would not surprise me to see Monahan, Bennett and Neal in the line up Tuesday.

I’m not a fan of the 11F 7D either but Peters hands were tied. Sometimes unforeseen events happen.

Monahan makes a big impact on the lineup, that much is certain. He may not carry the puck as much as some like but his presence on the ice dramatically changes the way opposing d plays us

If Hellebuyck would play like he did last year I would have no problem saying we are #1 contenders for the Stanley Cup.

This dude cannot be serious. They’re 5-7-1 over the last month and there’s 6 teams in the league with better records.

Not mad about this game at all either. Flames played as well as they could with the back to back and travel. Notwithstanding missing forwards in Bennett and Monahan. Keep in mind though, the Jets also didnt have Morrissey or Big Buff, so its not like the Flames were the only ones missing key bodies as the Jets were too.

I've seen the Jets crap the bed on so many nights in tightly contested games this season when we wanted them to take points off our competition. Including against Edmonton. They've been one of the most useless teams on the OOT.
Tampa would have a field day if they managed to get enough pucks off the posts to get them that far.

calgary's injuries happened yesterday, before they've had a chance to adjust to them...
didn't list Valimaki as 'injured' for that exact reason...teams adjust to missing players, but in less than 24hrs on the road? Still in the adjustment phase

Consider the back to back and players missing I think that was a solid effort. We hit like 4 posts as well. Hopefully we see them in the West finals.

What other choice did they have?
I dont believe there was another F available.
