No way of assigning more goals to posts but if you're +14 to the median should be worth what 5-6?

Puck luck has been terrible this year. Finally got a bounce or two last night and the Flames win. That was still with 2 crossbars and a bad bounce on the goal against. Gotta hope this changes soon.
A little puck luck goes a long way, especially for a team that leads the league in 1 goal games. Those 5 or 6 goals could easily mean a handful of more points.
That's how I have been doing it and then trying to figure out for what team a player clanked it if that player played for 2 or more teams during the season!
Last year most everything went right ... great team!
This year not the best puck luck ... we suck!
To be honest, I think the team is playing the same way, they just aren't getting that extra goal and then piling on with empty netters. I haven't checked, but I would guess the Flames are near the bottom with empty net goals.
What were our post numbers last year? Is there actually correlation between posts and success?
Even if our post numbers were higher and there is a correlation, I'm not sure if that is enough to convince me that there is any meaningful correlation (you know, all that jazz about causation).
I don't think it is luck that our guys can't shoot the puck in the net. Hitting the post is no different that missing the net by an inch. They're both still not scoring.

I'm not sure I'm 100% on board with that.
Hitting a post is beating a goaltender and then literally missing by an inch ... shouldn't be grouped into missing the net entirely in my opinion.
But no I'm certainly not suggesting this is the difference between 1st wildcard and 1st in the division.
