Default Former Flames player performance thread - 2022/23 season

Rather than bumping old off-season threads, I thought I'd start a new thread for the inevitable discussion of certain former players who are on new teams this year. Ideally it will be focused on player and team performance, versus the ongoing gnashing of teeth over what transpired during the offseason.

https://twitter.com/user/status/1580375336843284480

So far CP favorite and all-around good guy Sean Monahab is at a goal-per-game pace, while Gaudreau has zero points and Gudbranson apparently got his head caved in analytically in game 1.

Tkachuk plays his first game for the Panthers tonight on a line with Sam Bennett and the great Rudolfs Balcers (aka Rudy Hockey, probably).

Great idea!

Who gets more points this season - Gaudreau or Tkachuk?

Gaudreau. I think Tkachuk will be lucky to break 70.

Cheering for Monahan for sure. It would be a total Flames thing for Monahan to score 30 goals the next 3 years and the FLorida 1st being 11th overall or something.

I hope Monahan scores more than both. He looked great last night.

Monahan is the only one I'll cheer for, still kind of sad he's not here.

Good. I was wondering where I could find the latest news on Tyler Pitlick.

Sven Baertschi has now played 9 games for Bern SC in the Swiss league.

0 points and a -1.

Nigel Dawes has 6 points in 9 games in the DEL (German league) at age 37.

He has carved out a great European career

He scored a beauty against Nashville in exhibition though!

I'm rooting for Valimaki as well, although it looks like he'll be a healthy scratch for AZ against Pittsburgh tonight. They probably want to get him some more practice time before he plays. The Coyotes' left-side D will be JJ Moser, Shayne Gostisbehere, and Dysin Mayo.

Valimaki actually has a visa issue that he's getting sorted out. He'll probably slot in on the third pair once it's resolved.

Monahan experienced a game 1 win for the first time in his career last night. Gaudreau is still winless in the first game of the season for 9 straight years.

This is the one thread where Mark Jankowski would actually be relevant.
Therefore it is the one thread where we won't talk about him.

Did Jankowski actually get picked up anywhere after being on waivers? I'm still waiting on him to be the best player from the draft.

He cleared waivers and got sent down to Nashville’s farm team in Milwaukee. Signed a two-way deal in the offseason.

Tkachuk. It'll be close but while Johnny has more talent for point production I just think Florida has more overall talent then Columbas especially since Laine is down for a month. More talent on Florida means Tkachuk won't always have to face the top shut down units
