No they do not, Derek. You don't have to defend markstrom's honour at the cost of intellectual honesty (which you are proving to possess little of). Every good question discussed on the station you throw a wet blanket on with mindless pom pom waiving. Sometimes answers to questions are more complex than "yes, player good", or "yes, team good".. it's hogwash and they need to stop including Wills on their roundtables altogether

Sutter is what Sutter is. He was trolling and got the response he was looking for. Not the way a lot of coaches would have handled it, and likely not the way the team was hoping that question would have been answered, but it is Sutter in all his crusty glory.

His comments have no relation to how he actually interacts with the player. Give me a break on this humiliation narrative. The coach days before said he likes the player and thinks he got great potential, but you don't hear these journalist talking about that do we? Wouldn't generate controversy/viewers.

It is ery true that media, especially a small community like sports reporters, get in a bit of a bubble.
