No idea really, but all they were doing was constantly scraping this thread over and over. They were using the "print thread" functionality which is smart as it makes reading it in software easier.

That's what I thought at first, but the huge majority of it was coming from only 2 IP address owned by a cloud computing company. I mean that's what you usually see when search engines scraping a site but they're usually well behaved, only generate a few requests per second and are smart enough to quit when they've got it all and don't keep re-scraping the same thing over and over.

So definitely targeted.. by bots? Russians? AI? Who knows.
