3:45? That's late. Whoever started a meeting quarter to four at my office would get their f'n head chopped off.

They'll likely go until close to 10 PM or later, then continue tomorrow.

Closed door meetings in government typically take place in the evenings.

Also: Tom's House of Hockey is the arena name.

On the weekend, someone tweeted out a photo of the printout of the agenda for today and tomorrow's meetings. It was at least a full ream of paper.

Here it is...

No matter how this turns out, I seem City Council getting lamblasted and Calgarians being stewed tomorrow morning. Twitter is going to get ugly tonight and tomorrow.

Unless the proceedings have really swung towards the Flames financing the vast majority of this thing, in this economic/tax climate, a stewing won't necessarily be unwarranted. There couldn't be a worse time to give away public money.

Why would it do that? Tax money is going to be going towards an arena when $60 million in emergency cuts needed to happen. Stewing is going to commence and commence in a big way.

They're not even halfway through discussing all of the land use items on today's agenda.

Unless the arena information discussion is a hard-schedule for 3:45, it looks like it will likely be pushed back.

It is scheduled in closed session after the 3:15 break. When done there (probably at least an hour) and they will come out and report, likely just voting on whether to make the deal public. Then they’ll go back to the public hearing.

That isn’t even that thick of a public hearing agenda pile.

Again it's Francis, and who knows what 'significant' means. We also don't know the land ownership, building ownership, taxes, rent, event management structure, etc. etc.

Just a tiny tidbit of info I heard, thought I'd share.
worth mentioning that the "significant money" statement was made in comparison to katz's contribution, not that it would be significant money in and of itself

If we're going old-school, then The Canadian Olympic Saddledome has a certain ring to it.
