Ps. Don't worry, guys. As long as we keep doing the same thing every year, eventually we'll get a different result than either missing the playoffs or losing the first round!

Edit: Sorry, I'm in a Draisaitl (pissy!) mood. I'll chill in a bit, I'm sure.

All good man.

You don't have to let up. It's a discussion forum.

I don't see the panic, so I push back, but that doesn't mean you can't have an opinion.

I appreciate that you respond without cutting sarcasm and insults.

It's the equivalent to playing the same lottery numbers every week. Some people swear by it. Not many of them are lottery winners though.

Oh well! It's what he had/have/will have as Flames fans. Embrace it or depart for greener (?) pastures, I say.

Thanks man, I appreciate that.

I was getting pretty worked up though, so I had to bail. I mean, at the end of the day, none of this is worth getting riled up over. I do like winning, and it's been fun watching Kuzmenko and I like that Kadri's still giving it his all, etc.

At least we're still in the top 10, and 1-12 is a lot better (at least I get that impression) than usual this year.

Like is this a parody account? look at the standings "win all the games" haha
15th overall again!

Flames are drafting top 10 unless we see a crazy lottery win, even if they win the next two

The pearl clutching over the difference between 8th (6% chance at #1) and 10th (3.5% chance at #1) is hilarious.

At this point, the Flames will finish 8th worst to 10th worst in the league standings. I'm certainly hoping for 8th worst. Lose, lose, lose!

Worst-case scenario, the Flames get 3+ points and finish 10th worst.

It looks to me like we can get a maximum of 2 points, and we'll remain behind the NJD. One win and one regulation loss or 2 overtime/shootout losses would leave the Flames behind the NJD in regulation wins, which is the first tie-breaker given even games played.

I'd really like to see the Flames lose this one in regulation. That would mean that they would be guaranteed to finish no better than 9th worst.

Ideally, we lose both remaining games in regulation. This would give the Flames a chance at finishing 8th worst. Seattle would just need to get 1 point in its remaining games against the Jets and the Wild.

But how should that happen? The players aren't going to give up. You can't ask the players not to try to win. The goalies aren't going to not make saves. You want the coach to play the 4th line for 30 mins? That's not going to happen. We've used all our recalls so we can't weaken the roster. The young guys need to go out on a winning streak anyway, it's good for their development.

Cheer for wins man, because the team is 29th since the deadline, they've lost 9 of 12, they can't possibly lose again. Why even care about 8th vs 10th, it's a few percent of lottery odds and negligible difference between players available? But you'll remember this win for the rest of your life, or at least until May 6th on lottery day and don't you want that memory?

Don't forget, your perspective really does not impact the outcome, so why are you even posting it at all?

Said no one.

Not sure you're adding much to the discussion with an over the top sarcastic parody.

Yes. I hope they heavily outplay the Canucks but have the worst luck and all the bounces and bad penalty calls go against them.

So, a typical mid-season game then

No one?

You don't actually want me to go pull those posts from the other thread to prove it do you? ... Didn't think so.
