I love my iPad Air and 5S, but I do agree that the embedded youtube videos issue is annoying as hell.

Uninstall the Youtube app and restart. It takes over h.264 playback responsibilities and causes the previews to not load as well as general Safari instabilities.
Make sure you're running iOS 7.0.4.
Or buy Android I guess.

I have to chuckle a little when this post decries iOS 7.x devices being unusable then suggests everyone go to Android instead. My Nexus 7 has been a liability at best since moving to KitKat 4.4. Chrome half the time will turf me back to the home screen with the icons taking a good three to five seconds to re-appear before I can do anything. Device isn't rooted, either.

Agreed. The latest Kitkat has had much more issues than IOS 7.

THANK YOU.
Fixed everything. What pisses me off, is Apple should make this widely available knowledge.
Thanks so much

Battery life on the majority of devices (Apple, Microsoft, Google) out there is crap...so Ill give you that one. But to boycott iOS 7 devices because of embedded youtube videos not working seems to be a bit much.
Off to start my thread on how my Nexus 7 sucks because the TSN app won't launch.

I think the battery life issue is brought on by battery technology lagging the processor and LCD advancements. The big screens are great but there's a price to be paid for having to power that larger screen. A 64 bit processor is great but it's probably going to consume more juice than a 32 bit processor.

I don't understand how this thread is #13 posts long and not on fire yet. I (and most everyone in my family) is on iOS7 and everybody is really happy with it.
As for the Steve Jobs remark, I think it's a classic mistake to make. When Steve was alive it wasn't always incredible and revolutionary. Things shipped half-ready, odd attention to detail was ignored, there was all sorts of negatives. Steve was a great visionary for Apple, but the company was much more than him.

You are just trying to compensate for your itsy bitsy 4 inch iphone screen. hehe
I can't believe Apple released a new phone in 2013 with a screen that small... mind bottling!
