JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager of Facilities Long Range Planning (Facilities LRP), the Facilities Infrastructure Senior Planner is responsible for supporting the business unit requirements for the planning of infrastructure developments. This includes high volume Portable, Waste, Utilities, Fire, and Industrial Water Systems including Industrial Ponds and Treatment Plants. Also included will be the planning for Gas Distribution Systems, Roads and Grounds, and Landfills.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Develop and assist with the strategy, specifications, feasibility studies, Business Cases, schedules and high level estimates for future infrastructure projects within the Suncor Oil Sands for the next 2, 5, 10 and 15 years
- Capability to develop engineering projects up to Suncor EPCM Gate 1
- Act as an Owner Representative on behalf of the Facilities Group for projects from Gate 2 to Gate 6
- Provide direction and management of related infrastructure consultants
- Develop and assist with site plans, diagram flows and concept plans
- Help plan and/or review various infrastructure construction projects
- Assure that every infrastructure project is in compliance with Government Codes and Regulation as well as with Suncor Standards and Procedures
- Also included will be the coordination of updating infrastructure specifications, data and graphic information. Assure that all Infrastructure developments are properly integrated with the Facilities LRP
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:- Must be a MBA Civil, Mechanical or Hydro Engineer or related experience with strong focus on Planning
- Must have at least 10 years experience in infrastructure projects planning
- Background in Hydro Engineer consulting is considered an asset
- Experience in setting appropriate priorities, managing workload independently and as part of a team
Skills and Knowledge:- Best Hydro Engineer design methods knowledge is desirable, but not required
- Knowledge and understanding on Canadian and Provincial Environmental, Construction and Engineer Codes as well as Infrastructure Industry and Engineer Associations Standards
- Strong computer skills, primarily with Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and/or Primavera. AutoCAD skills are also desirable
- Interpersonal business skills to build and maintain effective relationships with Business Areas and Stakeholders
