Romano lost some velocity at some point. He was hitting 98 mph when he first got called up IIRC. Now all I see is 94 or 95 mph. Hopefully hes just taken some off to have better control or something

Nice to see Vladdy get a double, and almost a HR. Just keep hitting it in the air kid, good things will happen.

Honestly a pretty big accomplishment for the youngest team in the MLB whose current core didn't even start the season on the MLB roster this year.

Some not very surprising news regarding Vlad Jrs training regimen.

McKinney with a very sneaky 11 homers this year. In very limited playing time. I'm still not a fan but that's something he can hang his hat on for sure

I have two thoughts on that. I think he needs more one on one attention if he's going to start working out. If you start working out and changing your body type overnight, it can have a pretty detrimental effect on your swing mechanics, so it really would require him to change his lifestyle food and exercise wise, but also change at a pace where his body mechanics can adjust to his emerging body type, as well as baseball. So that means working out while practicing and doing that slowly over time rather than all in one off-season. The only way that can be done is support from a trainer on the team, which I'm sure they'd be glad to throw in. It's gotta be a lifestyle change though, and I'm doubtful without proper push from the organization that he can make that happen. So many chubby pro athletes give it a try in the off-season, look great, then once the season begins they fill out over time. We'll see.

Yep, Rory McIlory battled that. He decided to become a gym monster to improve distance and sucked for awhile because all his mechanics had to change to fit his new body.

Honestly a few years ago I would agree with you on this statement but with the juiced balls producing record home run totals I find it hard to place too much value in some home run totals. Almost every single team in the majors has a guy who’s hit 30 home runs with guys like Sogard doubling their career totals in one season.

Yes, but golf is about balance and tempo. Baseball is more about power and bat speed.
Also, Guerrero Jr didn't say that he has never worked out, he said he has never worked out in a gym. They showed some of his workout regimen in tonight's game.
Now, that doesn't change the fact that he needs to be in better shape. And he knows that, and intends to commit more to that this winter.
