Guess this means we get more stating of the obvious. Like water is wet and the sky is blue.

Some Titan fans are losing their collective minds over this.

Titans are not picking up former first-round pick Jack Conklin's 5th-year option, per source.

I don't know. I always liked him when he was doing mornings on Sirius NFL radio as he was one of those strong opinionated guys which makes for good discussion. Would rather someone like that in the PBP booth than a vanilla guy.

He just points out the obvious a lot. Hopefully he won't as much when he is in the booth.

Because the AFL worked out so well, the XFL should be a sureshot.

XFL reaches multi-year agreement with ESPN, Fox.

Quote:
The XFL reached multi-year agreements with ESPN and Fox Sports on Monday to broadcast its games beginning in 2020.

The league also announced its season will start Feb. 8, the weekend after the NFL season ends with the Super Bowl.
Quote:
All 43 XFL games — 40 regular season, three playoffs — will be televised with 24 on ABC or Fox. The remainder will air on ESPN, ESPN2, FS1 and FS2.

...

ABC will broadcast the league's first game and Fox will have games on Saturday and Sunday during the XFL's opening weekend. ESPN will show the championship game April 26.

Well the NHL would love to have the AAF's US TV ratings. The only reason that league failed so quickly is because they ran out of money due to an incredibly bad TV deal where they didn't make any money on broadcasts. The CFL can get away with 10-20k in attendance (Argos and Als) because teams make a lot of dough from TSN. It appears the AAF was trying to make ends meet based solely on ticket sales which is a recipe for failure.

I don't expect the XFL to be a massive success but I expect it's going to last longer than it's first iteration as unlike the AAF they have money in the bank and it looks like better TV coverage.

He can't possibly be any worse than Witten was.

Baldwin and Chancellor released by the Seahawks. Great players both.

Not sure how i missed this but not good news for Bucs fans.

Quote:
A determination has not been made as to whether Tampa Bay Buccaneers star pass-rusher Jason Pierre-Paul will need neck surgery, but coach Bruce Arians says the best-case scenario would be that the defensive end is out five to six months.

"I think [the evaluation] is still ongoing, and like [GM] Jason [Licht] said, we've got our fingers crossed and praying for him," Arians said, speaking for the first time since Pierre-Paul was involved in single-car crash in Broward County last week.

Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Pierre-Paul suffered a fractured neck, which could force him to miss the season. Last year, Pierre-Paul led the team with 12.5 sacks, becoming the first Buccaneers player to reach double-digit sacks since 2005.

Looks like Adam Gase made his power play;

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...e-gase-interim

Not exactly sure what Gase has done to warrant this kind of power but the Jets seem to be another one of those NFL organizations that can never get things right.

It's still hard to believe the Jets made back to back AFC Title Games with Mark Sanchez as QB. Maybe Rex needs another chance.

Washington LB Reuben Foster suffered a season-ending torn ACL today, per source.
Crappy human but a really good player. Big hits for the Skins on the 3rd snap of mini camp.

Sounds like Gerald McCoy to be released by the Bucs. I haven't really paid much attention to his production/stats but is he not worth 13 million? That's not even top 10 DL money

The fact that no team would trade even a 6th or 7th round pick to take him at $13 million is telling that teams either don't consider him worth that money or simply don't have the cap space to take him on at that price. He will have a list of suitors though and he may want to to go a good team on a one year deal in hopes he can use it as a springboard to a better deal next season.

Ndamukong Suh and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are finalizing a one-year deal, a source tells ESPN. Barring any late hang ups, Suh is now expected to be a Buccaneer.

Veteran cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, who made as much news off the field as on it during his 12-year NFL career, announced his retirement on social media.

Jones posted a video on his Instagram story, which has expired; it said "it's official that I'm done with the NFL," according to multiple reports. Now his Instagram account includes a photo of a car and a message from Jones thanking a dealership for his "retirement gift," as well as congratulations from followers on his career.
