Almost done the first season of Bosch. Really, really good... but Commander Zavala was a bit tough to get used to.

Just finished the fourth and final season of Rectify.

Amazing drama. Great performances by the actors. It's one of those shows where after you feel different. It makes you take stock on how you view life and how you view others. I really reccomend it to anyone that likes dramas.

I envy you. Getting to see it for the first time is amazing.

We are re-watching it with the kids and there are still jokes I am picking up on.

Such a good show.

I suspect I'm late to the party on this one but check out Years and Years on HBO. Im not sure it quite stuck the landing for me but the journey was completely worth it. Its a near future dystopia thing with Emma Thomson as sort of an amalgamation of various populist figures over the years written by Russel T Davies who was heavily involved in what I consider to be golden age Dr. Who if you are into that kind of thing.

Jeff being mistaken for Harvey Weinstein on Curb and badass leather jacket Chuck Boyle on Nine Nine are my favourite TV moments of 2020 so far.

Kidding season 2 has started.

It's such a fun, insane show. I'd really recommend it.

I still can't get over the amazing cinematography and coordination for this single take:

Finished the first season of Servant.
It's M. Knight, so he doesn't allow any closure at all, probably til his seventh season amazing twist! Good show, but not without it's frustrations.

Babylon 5.
When they hit a good episode, this was one of the best sci-fi shows ever. Weak can be weak. Kind of mirrors the quality of Star Trek TNG or DS9, but never received any love from a larger audience. The fully overarching storyline is pretty amazing. It really took off when Bruce Boxlietner was added. It's becoming one of those forgotten shows.

It makes me wonder exactly how many tv shows and movies are being buried or killed by not being accessible on streaming services.

I loved Babylon 5, I guess the only problem I ever had was that the end of the shadow wars was weak to me, two elder awesomely powerful races that were basically vying for attention from the lesser races.

The Human civil war was awesome, and so well done.

And yeah, Bruce Boxlietner did a great job in his role, and it had the kid from lost in space.

The G'Kar, Londo and Vir Kotto dynamic is an incredible set of intertwined character arcs. And they were essentially the secondary characters.

I have the last couple of seasons on dvd here somewhere, and now I might have to break them out.

The other series that isn't on one of the major streaming networks seems to be the X-files. How is that not a cornerstone for Netflix or Amazon?

I just bought the complete run of the original Twilight Zone. One of my absolute favourite shows ever and I haven't seen it in years. Mrs Puppet hasn't seen much of the show, so I'm looking forward to making her an enthusiast.

Do docuseries count? Nova and Nature are both awesome. Nova Planets series was on a little while ago. Saturn episode was great.

Watching Nature right now on weasels. This is some cool ####. Ferrets have spines that flex and they get 30% longer when underground. And now they’re fighting owls.

Next is a Nova about domesticated cats.

I am two episodes in, but I like “Avenue 5”. Pretty funny and quirky, and the cast is great.

XFiles was on Netflix Canada for about 3 or 4 years until late 2018 when I assume their licensing ran out.

Agreed. I'm a little surprised by people saying they are bailing on it this early. It's basically the humor of Veep in space.

Spoiler!

I loved the "get the heck out of our galaxy, we've grown up and don't need you" ending. Babylon 5 is in my opinion, the best Sci-Fi series of all-time. You could really tell it was well planned out. I was reminded of how well they did the Shadow War and Human Civil War at the same time when I watched how poorly Game of Thrones did the white walkers/iron throne in the final season. Sure there were bad episodes, but that was par for the course back then with 20+ episodes a year on network TV.

I really loved the whole war of the First races concept. With the Shadows believing that races only reach their potential through chaos and conflict, while the Vorlon's believed that races reach their apex through the enforcement of order and dicipline.

Really while none of them were really evil, they just believed in different ways of helping, both of them were pretty much villains and space facists.

The whole background story was so amazing as was the lore that they created to support it. While I loved the Shadow Wars, the story telling amped up with the human civil war. Plus Bester was awesome.
