Let’s not get overly negative. They blew this one but are still in 1st place. Far too early to claim they’re falling back to earth.
They definitely deserved to lose.

they sucked tonight. The gaps were awful, the decision making was sketchy, and they peeled off instead of finishing their checks

If the goalies were on opposite sides that would have been a blowout for the Flames. Hill played great and Vladar did not. Also Lucic blew about of a wide open chance as yah can get

That sucked. Probably some PTSD about Flames controlling the game and a bad 5 minutes cost the game. But that sucked.

Most frustrating loss since the Montreal game. This is one we should've had.

I think they win this one if Markstrom starts. Vladar just didn't look as sharp tonight and I really don't get why Sutter needed to start him tonight. He just played on Friday and he's going to get a start atleast once every second week for the rest of the month.

7-3-0 in their last 10 and still good underlying stats in that stretch. 2-2-0 on what’s usually a tough road trip for this team. I guess that’s coming down to earth.

Don’t overthink or overreact to the loss.

Vladar didn’t have a good night, third pairing was bad, didn’t like the Backlund line, but overall probably deserved at least a point tonight.

Tough games coming up. Gotta make sure this two game skid doesnt grow.

Sucks to lose a game you had complete control of but maybe they can learn something from this one.

My guess is Markstrom plays both Thursday and Saturday against solid teams.

Sharks scored against the flow, for sure.

But grade A mistakes will cost you in any game.

They're still winning the corsi and possession battle, but choking at key times lately. They really could use a 3-4 day break at home to recharge.

Flames were great in the 1st and 3rd periods. For some reason the wheels fell off in the 2nd, and they somehow missed a wide open net that most of us on this forum could have scored on.

We're gonna need a full 60 minute effort on Thursday to stop the bleeding. That's gonna be a very tough game.

Special teams weren’t great either but yeah they deserved a better fate tonight.

Overall though 2-2-0 is probably fair result for the 4 game trip.

Brutal 10 min stretch in the second did us in. Would have liked to have seen a third period comeback to really show that this team is different from seasons past. Couldn’t get the job done and this one hurts considering the score early in the middle frame. Tough game on Thursday. Hopefully home ice will be kind to them.

Maybe if you are going back a decade...in recent years they have been good there

Yeah they did not play well. Lots of unforced turnovers as well

I actually thought the flames did deserve to win unlike in Vegas. Tonight they kept pressing just weren't opportunistic like the Sharks.
