I’ll double down on the glory of this prediction. The flames play the oilers on March 26th. That will be the game where the flames guarantee a playoff spot with a win and the oilers are officially eliminated from getting a playoff spot with a regulation loss. The flames beat the oilers 3-2. - Someone other than Connor McDavid wins the scoring title
- The Flames surprise many and finish 2nd in the division
- Johnny Gaudreau publically asks everyone to start referring to him as "John Gaudreau" moving forward
- Las Vegas finishes third in the division and is eliminated in the first round
- Cale Makar wins both the Norris and Hart

I like the prediction some have made that Vegas under-achieves in the regular season. I think this could happen. They have been reckless with their trades since day one and I think it’s just a matter of time before it catches up to them. I could see their gamble on kicking fleury out of town backfiring on them to start and having one of those seasons where everything goes wrong.

I actually think Makar can actually do that and maybe even a Conn Smythe to boot. He has another gear as scary as that sounds.
