I was going to say that the Oilers struggle despite another incredible season for Connor and as soon as his NMC kicks in at the draft he will request a trade. Oilers miss the playoffs and make a big futures trade for a goalie that bombs

- The Avs get bumped out of the 1st round of the playoffs despite being the betting favorite to win the cup
- Kraken make the playoffs, get to the 2nd round, get the Vegas comparisons but the ride ends there
- Red Wings over achieve on the back of Nedeljkovic and make the playoffs
- The Bruins miss the playoffs
- Habs make the playoffs and face Carolina in the ECF. Bergevin gets into a fist fight with Dundon
- Flames make the playoffs and get to WCF thanks to Vladar

I realize this is all playoff related. Oh well.

Also realize these are bold predictions. My hot take is that I don't know what a hot take is.

A hot take is more like a controversial opinion on a current event. The thread title is misleading because I think having a hot take about future, as of yet undetermined events, is impossible.


Jack Eichel is exaggerating his neck injury and his whole surgery debacle is a fake controversy designed to force a trade.

Brad Treliving is an elite NHL GM who has done wonders with a small, undesirable Canadian market who struggle to attract free agents or make trades (given the proliferation of NTCs)

Darryl Sutter is the worst coach the Flames have had since Darryl Sutter last coached the Flames.

Those are hot takes.
