I think it is fantastic! I treated myself to a new Flames jersey for the first time in years because of it.

i think it looks pretty cool but here is my issue with it... those are long satin (jump) stitches. those are just asking to get plucked/hooked on something and then it's going to look bad with torn/loose threads on the front of the jersey.
i've owned my own embroidery company for 20+ years and i would never recommend any customer of mine do a design like this for the reasons i posted. usually the longest satin stitch i'd want on a garment is around 1/4"... and even that is asking to get plucked.

I like it better than the wordmark jersey too.

Yup, I've seen that before, it was a prototype they whipped up and were going to use as their third jersey starting in either 2020–21 or 2021–22.
But then they ditched it in favour of something that's coming next season. Let me just say, it was the right call.

I'd heard about this, too... still not sure what to make of it.

I hated the flags on the shoulders
But if the end up living on the neck (preferably inside the neck) or somewhere else on the jersey I'm okay with that.
The flags were very much something Ken King was very proud of, and if they remain as a way to honor him but in a smaller, less ugly way then I'm fine with that.
The different striping pattern on the sleeves and hem would have driven me crazy.
Makes it look like the wal-mark knock offs

Seems obvious it's a quick reverse retro design but they (thankfully)went to blasty instead

It doesn’t look like a reverse retro at all. More like a modernized version of the Reebok monstrosity the team wore for years. Makes sense too since they moved to the retro colors

Why doesn't it look like a reverse retro? There is no reverse retro "look", the are basically whatever the team choose to go with. It's either a RR or it dates back to 2017-2018 when the league switched from Reebok to Adidas and the Flames kept the Reebok edge look instead of possibly switching.
The CGY branding leads me to the former rather than the latter however as the Flames moved from the FanAttic to the CGY Team Store the previous year. The Blasty RR has the same CGY logo as well

Wasn't a reverse retro...pretty sure it was supposed to have been a new third for this season but they decided to hold off and not have a new third jersey this season.

I could definitely see a black and red jersey ala oilers and stars third.

I find it overly complicated, rather than boring. Cluttered to all hell.
I hope if they're doing a black third jersey, that they give us a nice clean Red-Black-White look. That would be a nice twist. Our retro set acts as the base set, and then be a bit more "free" with how you do the third/fourth jerseys.

I'm not a photoshop guru, but my hope for a third jersey, if they are going the black C route is to take the retro away jersey, replace everything red or yellow with black and everything that's white becomes red.
It might look "boring" or like a practice sweater, but I also think the simplicity would look sharp.
