truthfully, Fed's been in decline for literally 10 years. it's not a normal one because he is still perfectly capable of showing his peak form, just not 5-7 times in a row every tournament like before. but when the coin flips his way and you get to watch vintage RF, it's just as entertaining as ever.

Djoker's still the fav for Sunday, but Roger gets the extra day of rest, that might help tilt things just a bit since their last meeting.

Pretty good list, as of today it's hard to argue.
Djoker gets stiffed again tho...

Alex Zverev defeats Roger Federer 7-5 7-6(5) to move into the final of the ATP World Finals in London. He awaits the winner of Djoker and Kevin Anderson.

Most frustrating thing is the inability for Milos to stay healthy, but overall it was a pretty good year for Milos, Denis, and Vasek.

Huge upset by Zverev yesterday after Djokovic. I may regret this but I truly think Zverev wins at least 1 major next year.

Let's start with a semi-final first. Crawl before you can walk, you know? But with Roger reaching the final stage and Nadal likely to have ongoing injuries, Zverev might be the only thing to keep Novak from owning the tour next year.

It's about expectations. Denis is just so close to being an elite tennis player in terms of what he needs to pin down, that it's frustrating seeing him take two steps forward and one step back.

I'm given hope by old man Zverev seemingly beginning to figure things out, that Denis will be able to get back on track before it's apparently too late.

It's all mental for him outside of tightening up his service (which will come with more and more reps). You can't always try to paint lines and crush the ball as hard as you can and this is the main reason he's fallen flat the last half of the year this year.

If a slightly more mature and calculated Shapo emerges in Australia this year, I expect big things for 2019.

I think Denis is going to be just fine, pretty clear that he was burnt out from playing too much tennis combined with all the travelling that he was doing. Also, not everybody follows a meteoric rise to the top ala Tsitisipas, Coric struggled for a while before appearing to figure things out, Rublev had a tough year last year after looking to be on his way to a solid top 30 player, I think we can be a little patient with Denis.

sorry I was being a little green texty. the impatience with Denis has been one of the most aggravating things for me about this 2018 edition of the thread. I'm hoping he can put all those premature worries to rest in the 2019 thread.

They are playing in one corner of the stadium in Lille!

Coric won the first match over Chardy, Cilic takes the first set again Tsonga.

Cilic takes the 2nd set as well. The French are in deep deep trouble.
