tunlr.net

Tried it tonight and got access to US Netflix selections just by changing a single DNS setting on my Apple TV. I don't have any experience with Unblock.us so it would be interesting for someone to compare the two services side by side. The price, at least for now, is something I can get behind (read: free).

Tunlr uses DNS traffic shaping.
In other words there is large delays/lag when used regularly.

Well, it's free so you can't complain too much. I watched a handful of episodes of Mad Men last night and didn't notice any delays long enough to interrupt play. You're right though: it's not ideal if you want to use it full-time.

Likely a really dumb question but how do you know you have access to the US Netflix? Does it give you a message?

When you log in via the web interface (well, from a computer), it sometimes pops up with a message along the lines of "It looks like you are traveling. You may notice the content selection has changed."

Another way would be to search for the show "Archer", and if it shows up, watch every episode. Only available in the U.S. Netflix.

FYI for anyone that watched the first 3 seasons of Breaking Bad on Netflix and waiting for season 4- AMC will be re-airing all of season 4 in its entirety starting second week of July in prep for season 5 premiere... the good thing is the entire season will shown over the course of a week, so should be able to see it all before season 5 starts.

Netflix never announces what is on the way, it's always things showing up one day and then there are some websites that track them. Not sure it may ever end up on Netflix but here's hoping it does

Check again tomorrow. I know for the US one they usually announce the new shows the day before they actually appear online.

Check out the site http://can.whatsnewonnetflix.com/

It's pretty up to date and easy to navigate.

The two sites had the exact same releases announced and then there was just a ton on desivibe added that have not been on any other site.

I bet it might be a mistake with US netflix as I can't see why Goon would be on Canada Netflix this early.

I think you're right, checking the US site and it seems all those releases are on US Netflix.

Don't worry, Canada will get solid additions soon. An edited version of Die Hard or something...
