So many thoughts going on right now...where to begin:
-Sad for Smith. You could just see in his eyes he knows this was probably his best chance to win and the team just went full loser in front of him.
-On that note, same for Gio, guy is 35, may only have a couple years left.
- JG trying to do too much. Monahan was invisible. Easy to shut down one player.
- 3M line. Mackinnon was just way to much for Backlund.
- The lack of effort in the file game is concerning. Need to shake things up.

Can't even be mad at the Avs, they just dominated the Flames and never let up. MacKinnon is easily a top 3 player, might even be #1 in the playoffs right, almost unstoppable at times. Just a fantastic player.
Lots of question marks for the Flames. Great regular season, laid a massive egg in the playoffs. Just tough to watch them fold like a cheap tent when the games really mattered. Says a lot about some of the players on the roster.
For now I'm just going to try to enjoy playoff hockey now without the frustration and anger at times. Just relax and try to watch some teams that are really playing with some heart and dedication.

It’s a playoff broadcast not a Flames broadcast... Let me help you out - half of them raised their sticks then they skated off...

I accept any and all responsibility for this abysmal series.

No. It was all Sportsnet fault for giving us Cassie Campbell.

This one stings a lot. After the regular season they had I really thought they had a chance to make a run. A lot of negative signs were there from the all star break onwards, but I guess the optimist in me wanted to believe they could flip the switch and find their game again. Instead it wasn’t even close. The Avs ran our show from start to finish and if not for Smith the series would have been even more embarrassing than it was. I don’t even know where to start when it comes to fixing the team, but the lack of compete in this series was really disappointing. It’s going to be a long summer.

Absolutely disgusting and it ruins what happened in the regular season for me.
The Avs worked hard but the Flames beat themselves with piss poor efforts. Without Smith they could have easily lost game 1 too.

But it wasn't through.

Disappointed. Can't help but be with the excitement of the regular season. But I don't think the answer is a firing squad though either. Happy for Smitty. Great competitor. Really liked seeing our baby D carry the load.

Credit to the Avs for figuring out the Flames neutral zone game, and frustrating them enough in game 1 and 2 to carry that over and get the Flames out of sorts. Flames still had two OTs and chances in both to have this series look different, in spite of their play.
This series should cool the jets on a overpay of Tkachuk too. Mono I bet we hear didn't have one of his surgery from last year fully take.

The upside is that my Flames car flags from 08/09 are holding up quite well - nearly pristine.

Man, kept the faith until the bitter end but this does feel like one of the weakest, worst playoff performances i have seen from any team. I would never believe they were a 1 seed.
On to next season i guess. Sadly i’m not sure this experience even makes them better. Judging by the fortitude over the last 4 games itll probably stay in their heads and make them choke harder next year if they manage to get back in the playoffs.

Yea I know that's kinda contradictory but I wanted to show a bit more emotion than most of the team

Gaudreau played really hard and I'm proud of him.
He had no support when he tried to make plays.

Refereeing was pretty gross too though.
This team still has some upside, I firmly believe that.
Credit to MacKinnon and Rantanen, they felt like Crosby and Malkin out there.

Uh..OK. That is a pretty crappy take. Smith was fine tonight...not one of those goals can be blamed on him...none were soft or even really stoppable. D was awful. O was worse. Johnny worse than both put together. The only person on the Flames smiling tonight is Neal. (He would have saved them, no doubt...in his mind.)
