One would assume he has many pairs, so getting some horse#### on one ain't no thang.
Even more after he signs his contract...

The most ridiculous offer was Tkachuk, Andersson and Hanifin for Marner and Horton

He’s still got to sign the deal. Even then, I suspect that if Tkachuk ever entertains an offer sheet as an option it will be to leverage what he wants from the Calgary Flames. In other words, he likely won’t sign anything unless he is pretty confident the Flames will match it.

The absolute top limit for Tkachuk (Brad Marchand) has just completed year 2 of his UFA contract 6.125 x 8. He was a UFA when he signed that.
|
Playoffs count so much the highest paid player in the league has been in them 1 time in four years. A guy that has never made them got 9x8. Marner had 4 points in 7 games and will be the top paid RFA.
Also, comparing contracts signed in other years...come on now...you are just trying to stir stuff up

If any team has shown why you keep your first rounders, it’s them.
Example: had Duchene, Landeskog and MacKinnon... 52 wins. Had they offer sheeted someone in max compensation range they could have lost Rantanen, Jost, and Makar.

Is there any argument that he gets less AAV than Nylander? I can’t see it

This is clearly meant to infer the Islanders IMO. The history being Johnny T.
It would be terrible if it were Colorado though, we do not need that team to get any more young talent. + they still have to sign Rantanen.

Colorado can load up on all the fancy Leafs forwards they want. There’s only so much ice time to go around. Their defence and goaltending still stinks.
Also, best of luck fitting Marner, Rantanen, Zadorov, and Burakovsky into the roster with the cap space they have left.

My guess was also the Isles, but I can see Montreal being the other team as well.
Longshot team but no real "history" with the Leafs. Columbus.

I expect that if Tkachuk was offered the Aho deal from Calgary, he would gladly except it. He gets the financial security without committing to too many years.
I also think he'd accept that offer sheet from someone, as he knows that Calgary would have to match, even though it's not the contract they want.
Much like Carolina, the Flames want more term with than AVV, or less AVV with that term.

Someone offers him $10 million/ year and he comes back with “better make it $9 M or Flames won’t match”? Have some more coffee because you know that is preposterous.

No. He just doesn't sign it.
Who ever said anything about negotiating an offer sheet in the Flames favour?

Vancouver media starting to speculate that Brock is going to get a 4 year bridge deal. Not sure if that has any relevance or not.
