I am playing through this myself right now without any issues at 1440 on a GTX 1080. What kind of problems are you running into?

A lot of the NPC models aren't rendering until I get up close to them.

Strange, I can't say I've encountered that issue. I am assuming you're getting something like this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscr...textured_npcs/

What are your specs? It could be a memory/cpu thing. Do you have the game installed on an SSD? Also maybe try turning down the Character detail level.

That's the one! My specs are:

Windows 10
1TB SSD
8 GB RAM
I-6600K
RX 480 8GB

I'm only running it at 1080p, so I really don't think it's my specs but I'll try turning character detail down and see what happens.

Welp, tried turning everything down and closing all my background programs and no change. God Ubisoft blows.

Anyone else play Mortal Kombat on Xbox? I want to play online more but I find that I'm either playing people who are terrible, or I'm playing people that can juggle me for 5 minutes at a time

Well, it's that time of the decade. Time to start fights all over the internet with "best games of the decade" lists. Up first, CNET: https://www.cnet.com/news/the-30-bes...decade-ranked/

Hmm. Not bad overall.

I think my personal top 5 would be

1. Red Read Redemption
2. The Last of Us
3. Grand Theft Auto V
4. Skyrim
5. Xcom 2

But if a weird list as it tries to balance quality and impact. Like Pokémon Go had a huge impact, but I wouldn’t say it’s even a good game, let alone a best of anything. Same with Fortnite — enormously popular and successful but quality-wise it’s not especially amazing.

That list is generally terrible IMO. There's some obvious great games on that list but some that certainly aren't best of decade.

And that's always the fight. "I don't like Fortnite" is not a good argument for saying it's not a good game. (using Fortnite only as an example here.) In fact, the number of players the game has, for as long as it has had them, actually argues an *objective* case for its inclusion, not just a subjective one.

GTA V not making the list is curious though.

I don’t think it’s an old argument really, that popular doesn’t equal good. It’s like if someone made a list of best movies of the last decade and it was all comic book movies and Star Wars because they made the most money, so they must be the best right?

A number of those comic book movies will make the top movies list, and the will generally belong there, however. So I don't think that's quite the argument you think it is.

I've had an absolute ball playing Banished. It's medieval city builder and it's beauty is in it's simplicity. Tons of fun making sure your villagers don't starve, freeze or die of disease.

That is a very great game. In that same vein, I would recommend "Dawn of Man," which is city-building but for a Stone Age group of people.

Certainly not my lists and I don't see them aging terribly well.
