might have gone Wotherspoon based on whole body of work ( sigh) but given that he only wore 56 for his first of 4 sorties, I guess I'll call it a draw with the assumption that if the puck drops at all again under any way shape or form its Gustafsson
Tyler Wotherspooon ....
What could have been if they hadn't gambled that Kucherov would slide and just went ahead with picking him in the 2nd round instead.
I have voted for Lomberg, but if we get back to playoffs, and Gustafsson draws in regularly, I can see him surpassing Lomberg's impact. I think Gustafsson's sample size is not big enough for a vote.

Exactly why I couldn't vote for him.
They sure dropped the ball there. Thinking he'll go another 29 picks unnoticed and he only goes 1. smh
Pelech and wotherspoon, ugh, what wasted high round picks.
I am not a big Gustafson fan from watching him briefly as a flame. He's about as piss poor defensively, good for a brain dead play, as kylington, though at a higher price point and older. Though he picked up some pp good will I suppose.
When it's all said and done, when we look back, lomberg will have been more memorable a flame than Gustafson in their limited games played as a flame.

as a 2nd round pick goes Wotherspoon is fine ( I mean, sure you should want to do better, but 2nd rounders are patchy on the whole), if not par for the course- it only really hurts because the Flames were onto something better- which they have acknowledged and could have had a draft for the ages if they had the strength of conviction to grab both Kucherov and JG

Yeah that definitely hurts. We always talk about the what-ifs when it comes to drafting, but in this case it was known that Kucherov was on their radar and the flames were definitely interested.

Ugh.. Kucherov going the very next pick is painful.
