These three players are considered generational by some, but I think they were just really good players.

Jagr - Put up a lot of points but I vividly remember him floating around at the blue line when he was with Washington and New York.

Lidstrom - played his entire career on an allstar team and accumulated points. Most of his prime was in the DPE so of course he's gonna look good defensively.

Hasek - One Cup as a starter, on possibly the most stacked team of all time. Couldn't get it done in the playoffs, even when he was on good teams.

Nowadays there's Barkov, who was underrated, but then became overrated. Actually he might be circling back to underrated territory now.

Edit: Just realized this might seem anti-European. Just a coincidence, I think most Europeans are underrated, and most of the North Americans I think are overrated have been mentioned.

Wow it's crazy how different some opinions can be (hot take) but to me you listed arguably the greatest goalie of all time, the greatest defenseman of all time and one of the top 10 forwards of all time.

Here’s a few on my list. Darcy Tucker, Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Jose Theodore, Logan Couture and Morgan Reilly.

^ I disagree 1000% with the Couture pick. Guy is the real deal, I think he's very underrated.

Okay if you’re in the top 10 scoring of all time, there is no way you are “overrated”. That’s bias and ridiculousness. Messier and Jagr should not be mentioned in this thread.

He wasn't the best goaltender with the best stats, but the guy always made game changing saves when his team needed it, which wasn't very often when you looked at that Oilers team offense.

Tomas Kaberle comes to mind, so hyped by Leafs fans when he was traded to the Bruins and I was not impressed whatsoever.

I'm sure he will be super disappointed to hear me say that

Dion Phaneuf. Tried so hard to like him when he was a Flame but I just never warmed up to him.
