I will always love our current arena but will always hate its location.

If only they could lift that damn thing off the ground with a couple thousand helicopters and gently drop it where the 101 and 202 intersect.

How much gas will the helicopters need to get to Quebec? Asking for a friend.

Garage seems like such a weird word for something so monstrous, especially when most aren't even closed off like a garage.

Definition of garage from Oxford languages: "a building for housing a motor vehicle or vehicles".

They do have an arena so don't need that one.

Report the Coyotes don't have the votes in Tempe for their arena proposal to be built after the failure to pay their taxes.

https://gophnx.com/2022/01/09/coyote...l-on-thin-ice/

Quote:
The Coyotes’ hopes for building a $1.7 billion arena and entertainment district in Tempe are teetering on a razor’s edge. Two sources with knowledge of the situation said that the Coyotes do not currently have the votes in the Tempe City Council to approve the project and move forward.

Per those sources, there are three yes votes, two no votes and two votes that are undecided, but leaning toward no after the Coyotes’ recent failure to pay taxes and bills came to light.

“The Coyotes certainly aren’t doing themselves any favors with the negative news stories,” one source said. “I would imagine if another negative story comes up on (owner Alex) Meruelo or the organization or their business practices, it probably will die. Those stories hurt tremendously.”

Seriously. Not paying your taxes is not some clerical oversight. Sounds like they’re running out of friends.

Crazy the experiment in Phoenix is being pushed so hard by Bettman. I'm still not convinced Quebec would be a great spot for a franchise (not enough money locally & corporately) but you gotta think anything is better than this hot mess.

I can't remember who said it, but I laughed while skimming this thread while someone in here was suggesting it was seriously just a clerical thing that would be cleared up after it was brought up, lol. Like yeah, no.

Craig is using his outlet (As a bit of a Coyotes shill) to throw in the Salt River Indian option and pressure the remaining votes on Tempe. This is news to me that it was an option but always been a top location for me, moreso than the Tempe location.

Not paying the bills was a huge embarrassment but im sure that can be discussed and flattened out. The Coyotes otherwise have been doing everything right with this proposal. From the article all the Coyotes need is 1 more vote of the remaining 2..

The reason I removed the Coyotes avatar was because of them being idiots and not paying their bills, intentionally or unintentionally it is embarassing.

Because it has always been in a position to fail.. that's why. It isn't the market itself but bad ownership from day 1 that so far is continuing the trend with Meruelo..

I am not paying a penny on Coyotes and personally believe they're gone because I don't have a ton of faith in this ownership getting it done. Until they break ground the team is more or less dead to me.

I feel like they didn't pay their taxes to "stick it to Glendale" so it would be fitting if that's what ultimately costs them this Tempe arena.
