I could keep going, but none of them maintained their level of play. All have tailed off significantly. It is unreasonable to believe that any player signing an 8 year deal at around 30 years old will not tail off significantly by the end of the contract.

I stopped looking around the 250th ranked team, but there is a single team from the past 10 years in the top 250 for PP goals scored in a season, the 2022-2023 Oilers with 89 for 79th place.

Your other point is accurate in the move towards showcasing the skill game and much more the reason for the scoring increase than any PP increase which goal totals don't support

A lot of those seasons are pre 2005-06.

I think what would be more impactful would be plotting on a graph - league wide - PP Goals / PP Attempts - PP Success Rate and overall Goals per Game atleast since post lockout.

Of course these deals will fall off, everyone knows that. But that's the price of playing.

The alternative is trading him (and likely McDavid too) and starting all over again.

Look at the Oilers, they have the best 1C/2C combo in the NHL - but are unable to fill out the roster properly because they are up against the cap. Those aren't even max contracts. They were 1 game away from a stanley cup, but Connor McDavids are very few and far between.

It will be interesting to see what type of team is more successful going forward. A team like the Canes that have a ton of depth but no superstars, or a team like the Leafs and Oilers, where they are top loaded with a bunch of scrubs filling out the remaining roster.

She's American. I mean we know a lot of American personalities from networks because we're rabid hockey fans and see clips, stories and news from the states in our hockey browsing. But Americans would typically probably only see their own network stuff.

Yeah, exactly. I don't even have TV, just streaming. I personally don't find it interesting to watch TV unless there is an event occurring. It's easier to watch highlights online and skip the 40% ads and useless post hoc commentary. I get why they exist, it's nice to have on in a bar, but I never would sit down to watch that.

Yes, it was Rick Ball for most Flames games with Ryan Leslie hosting it. I know Shorthouse, Singh, Chris Cuthbert, Monster Truck, Bartlett. I grew to like Nickson on the Kings games. Does Jeff Marek broadcast any hockey games?

Both players are looking good for top 10 in NHL History for career points. They're not just "exceptional" - they are some of the best ever statistically and this bus is driven by McDavid.

I don't care what Oilers fans think or not. This is my belief. You don't need to be an "Oilers fan" to think that McDavid and Draisaitl will average 100 points over the next 10 years. The only condition being that they play together during that time.
