Taken as a whole, and not just the bird sanctuary spot, it’s a pretty nice area between it and the Bow River.

I guess, but basically everywhere along the Bow is that good. It's just so dorky when you see nerds there with their binoculars and cameras as though the City has somehow corralled a bunch of birds to that one spot for your viewing pleasure. Go look at birds anywhere.

Silver's utter disgust for nature (bird sanctuary, nose Hill Park, undeveloped mountains) can finally be understood by the fact he still wears his hat backwards.

I don't care how much weed you smoke but if you leave the house smelling like it you're a scumbag. No different than body odor, take care of yourself and don't smell disgusting.

There are some spots that are better than others though. The bird sanctuary is pretty good, but Glenmore Reservoir is better IMO (also significantly larger, so of course that stands to reason). Also, since I’m outting myself as one of those nerds, let me just say that while birding isn’t for everyone, it has to be one of the least offensive activities toward other people!

I could rant endlessly on this, but a good chunk of these "bad behaved dogs" simply have different neurochemistry, and it is LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE for them to exist comfortably within our neurotypical societal expectations (many many many of which are ####ing stupid and none of us like, anyways). And it can be essentially impossible to teach/discipline/etc them in a way that makes any sense to our neurotypical brains. Science/medicine is barely beginning to understand this; diagnosis is difficult and subjective, and it isn't something that can be 'fixed' any more than the colour of one's fur or wet/dry food orientation.
Peace and quiet is not an unreasonable expectation. Good chance those dogs live in a state of constant dysregulation, despite their owners best efforts (that may well have evaporated at some point out of lack of understanding and the futility of it all, because holy #### it can be incredibly ####ing hard). So as much as they may disrupt dozens of moments of your day, imagine what they might be feeling most of the time.
None of us can really imagine what it's like to live in a world that is constantly hostile to you (but doesn't seem to bother most others). 3 years ago I probably would have been a judgmental prick about loud dogs and 'bad owners'. Not anymore.

They make shorts that go below the knees? They are probably baggy and look nasty.
Walking around in huge jorts that flail below your knees make you look lazy af. Might as well join those people who leave their house in their PJ's and slippers.

So don't take those dogs (ar any dog really) to public places that aren't meant for pets. Dogs do not need to go into a huge crowd of people (Lilacfest etc) in the first place. Skittish dogs definitely don't need to.
It also seems like people who have given up on training their dogs love to go to offleash parks and let their dogs tun amok or leave them outside barking all day.
I had to stop going to offleash dog parks because of poorly trained dogs that 'were just playing'.

It's not just about the birds. It's a great little walk, where you can see birds, deer, and beavers. It's rarely busy, there are no dogs (you would like that), and people are respectful and quiet.
For something inner city that's hard to find.
I went there with my daughter last night and we spent about half an hour watching the beaver go about his business. It was great.
