How is it in any way unclear what the difference is? Once the door opens, I can be off the plane in 30 seconds or 15 minutes. The difference is 14 minutes and 30 seconds. Depending on the timing and location of the flight, that can also make a difference as to how long you're waiting for a cab / uber, how many people you're suck behind walking through the terminal, how much traffic there is getting out of the airport, all sorts of things.
So yeah, I'd rather be close to the front and not have to put up with people struggling to get their far-too-large bags out of the overhead bin, thanks.

I agree the intent was fun, and I was treating it this way. And perhaps you're right. I have just never been able to read the tone some posters and IMO if this is actually going to effect someone then it stops being worthwhile or funny.
Unless that someone is ozy or muta in which case all in bitches.

This is assuming you have no checked bags, otherwise you’ll just be first in line to stare at the empty carousel for 14:30. That has always been the linchpin as far as travel slowdowns in my experience.
If you only have a carry on and a personal item for a romantic weekend getaway to Regina then you’ll be needing that extra 15 minutes.

I mostly fly between here and BC so yeah, I never take checked bags. Even if I'm going for a bit longer, a personal item and carry on packed properly with compression cubes and proper organization is tons of space.

For me it's like anything else. If something is slow because that's just what it takes, I have absolutely no problem with that.
If something is slow because people are being idiots and taking way longer than they need too, then I get irritated
So I just avoid the issue and sit in row 1

It’s not really a conversation about where the best place to sit is. Row 1 is better than row 30, sure, but it’s about people sitting in row 30 trying to jockey past people in row 28 or 29 to save themselves 10 seconds.
It also never takes 15 minutes to get off the plane after the first people stop going. Don’t be absurd.

Especially if you start to factor in things like Customs. Being first in line at customs in Cancun with an entire 787 behind you vs in front of you can be an hour plus difference
But like Pepsi said, if you're in the back and muscling past people to be #232 in line vs #225, you're a twat. Buy a better seat

And it was even worse during Covid when you had to deal with the screenings and the entry requirements.
Pepsi is wrong though about one thing, being at the back vs the front of a plane can absolutely save you 15 minutes. I've been there.

Impossible. It has never happened to me personally and my reality is the only one that is important.
How many times has the difference been 15 minutes? I’m going off 100s of flights and honestly can’t say I’ve ever seen it. Has to be rare.
Even then, it’s 15 minutes. Even if that happened in the grand scheme of things it’s such a small amount of time.

Even if 15 minutes was possible, that’s the difference between the first person off and the last person off. Then calculate the fare difference between the first and last row and see just how much those precious “15” minutes cost.
The key is, whatever row you’re in, to just wait until it’s your turn fairly like a normal well adjusted adult and decent human and live out the future airport consequences of the row position you selected. Not an entitled POS who must absolutely have those extra arbitrary minutes.

Exactly. Want to pay to be the first, 10th, or 20th person off the plane? Go for it.
But if you’re in row 20, sit your ass down and wait until rows 1-19 are moving out, like an adult.

For a few years, i was purposefully booking the last row on the plane. first, it was generally considered less desirable so always had extra space on a non-full flight. Second, I had almost no stress/frustration/anxiety about the unloading process. I would sit in the back and finish my movie/tv/book until the plan was unloading.

We really just need a 5 star ranking system straight out of a Black Mirror episode. That way everyone can get their feelings hurt sometimes.

School Supply lists. What a racket. Every year the same items. I don't think my kids have used a glue stick in years. Can we find any in the house? Nope. Let's by some more!

I dunno maybe I spend too much time thinking if what I am doing is inconvenient to someone else. I’ll inch up at an intersection so the person behind me turning right can squeeze by. I always move my cart out of the way if I am going to look at a product or something. My wife thinks I try too hard to not inconvenience people to the detriment of myself or family. But I just think if we all did this stuff life would be so much more stress free.

As a wheelchair user I appreciate this... I am constantly held up, either moving out of the the way of others or having people stop instantly in front of me.. one that I struggle with is people holding the door open for me... People often stand in my way and block the doorway while holding the door open. Even when I say it's ok I got it they struggle to make room. I know they are trying to help but after I tell them I can manage they should just get out of the way.
People loitering at the top or bottom of ramps grinds my gears...
