I just chuckle at people's impatience and proceed with no haste when it feels appropriate. If someone on the other side wants to jump the gun even though every one will get their luggage at the same time no matter how quickly they exit the plane then i'll let them go. The airport equivalent of an aggressive truck guy ripping by you only to cruise up next to them at the following light.

The old Chinese finger trap analogy is apropos here.

I remain seated and continue to read my book until I see movement. It's like a 30 second wait after that point.

Now getting ON the plane - well, I'm charging on there just as fast as I can, and taking whatever overhead compartment I can lay my hands on.

It's a land rush. I don't make the rules, but I'll be dammed if I'm not spurring the horse on the way in!

Theres very little actual hurrying done in airports. Its a marathon not a race.

Our pride in queuing is a decidedly British trait that seems to have been adopted by other nations, but (annoyingly) it's still far from universal.

Having flown on almost every continent, you would not believe some of the crap people pull to be the first off the plane.

With that being said, the argument there is that it's cultural. There is no argument here that Kevin needs to bump up ahead so he can go wait at the carousel for his checked luggage.

I think PaperBagger started this out of some cheeky off-season fun and I had actually hoped to make it a bit further. Its nothing. Its not a real indictment of anyone, hell, I voted out of pure spite. Because I think everyone in the competition has thick enough skin to take a good joke.

Actually after reading the Mental Health thread I've been pretty chill. I used to rail on those Victoria guys but after reading what they have been through lately I felt really bad for them. Even Cokefree. he posts on here 24/7 but I guess I just feel a little sorry for him. Same with Zary's Moustache.

The only effer I couldn't stand was Yoho but Cory Morgan and Greyanus is toast in here now! Lol.

How you pack and how fast you walk probably each contribute 300-1000% more to the speed at which you exit the airport than whether you’re 15th off the plane or 20th.

I’m a bit of a bitch about getting on early, but that’s all about that precious overhead bin. Once I’m in my seat I figure the time between that and when I put my bag down at the hotel/friends place/home is really no longer in my control.
