Look around...do you see a sturdy beam?

If so, are you wearing shoes? With laces?

I had to do this when watching Aquaman.

You can fashion a rudimentary noose with the shoelaces, but you need a good sturdy beam and some Privacy. If people see you do it they'll inevitably try and stop you, so you have to look like you're performing standard maintenance. It has to look like an accident.

Do you have a roof-hanging pot-holder....oh no...I've already said too much! They know! They're here now!!

Why? Dont get me wrong, I'm no fan either, but thats just a 'Personal Preference' thing.

I like doors and comfort, they're just not my bag, but on the road? I don't mind them.

They are loud and annoying and are usually driven by people who like to drive them to be as loud and annoying as possible because they like them being loud and annoying.

Look here...I have a race-built Mustang that is insanely loud and annoying.

But I built it when I was 21.

"Yeah man! Look at my cool loud car!"

Thats all well and good for a bit.

But in your late 30s? Its more like:

"Sorry! I know its a bit obnoxious and very loud but I can't do anything about it! Sorry!"

I s### you not, when my Mustang was my only set of wheels and I was working at Greyhound and coming home at 3-4 am? I turned it off at the main street and pushed it the rest of the way.

It is that loud.

I dont know, maybe some people don't, but I grew out of it after a bit.

I am talking...this thing sets off other people's car alarms on its way by at damned-near idle, its set off people's home alarms.

And I didnt set out to make it a very loud car. I didnt do anything on purpose. Its just a very powerful naturally aspirated engine and it is loud.

But I try and be as respectful as I can.

There's a guy who lives in my neighbourhood who rides his bike past my place all summer long with his music cranked super-loud, but he's always playing music that doesn't fit with being that loud and obnoxious -- things like Fleetwood Mac and Elton John. Based on his choice of music, I assume he must be at least in his 60s.

With the weather warming up, it shouldn't be too long before I hear Crocodile Rock come blaring down the street again.

They're also dangerous, and the onus is on everyone else to be extra cautious while in their vicinity yet they are often driven with little care for their safety. They'll shout "loud pipes save lives" while wearing all black because hi-vis clothing isn't cool.

I am on one of the motorcycle facebook groups. Some of the stuff they think is cool is like head-scratching. Imagine white Oakleys guys, but on two wheels, debating whether they can outrun cops if they’re close enough to the airport because police helicopters won’t take off. Stupid crap like that.

Anyway, that said, being on a bike is super fun. If you haven’t, sign up for a class or something and enjoy.

I dunno. The gist was something like they won’t call out HAWCs to catch a speeder cause they have to ground or delay flights. It was a really dumb convo.

Why would a helicopter need to take off from the airport?

They doesn't necessarily need to, but the police HAWCS helicopters are stationed at the airport and take off and land there.

I'm actually curious now onto why. Would seem like there are much better places to take off from that would be closer to every quadrant of the city but I'm no helicopter expert.

I know they have their HAWCS hanger there which is a big deal. All I found online was this from the city of Calgary

Quote:
Calgary is one of the busiest airports in Canada and is unique in some aspects because of all of the residential areas that are in a very close proximity to the airport proper. The HAWCS crew is very fortunate to have a very good working relationship with the air traffic controllers that allow us to operate, when necessary, very close to the airport.
