This is why I detoured the gym part and went directly to the home setup.
Collecting equipment for a couple of years to hit all the major movements and muscle groups I need, it has worked out nicely.
Best of all, no concern about dookie fingers being all over the stuff.
Public gyms just add too many layers to the main objective of being there. I don't want to think about other people, interact with other people, or have to think about their filthy habits. Weight training is strenuous enough as it is.

Gear grinder related to hand washing. Why is it that you sometimes see a washroom that has 4 sinks in it, and only one hand dryer? Like especially if it is one of the older hand dryers. They take longer to dry your hands than it does to wash them. If there are 4 sinks there should be 4 hand dryers.
It grinds my gears walking out of a washroom with wet or damp hands, particularly if there is a door you have to open to exit the washroom. M

Yeah... I'll never full on hand-grab a public door handle (unless it's on the way to a sink). I'll use other means or appendages to wedge it open. Or if there's no other option, grab it above or below where every one else has to minimize the contact with the grossest surfaces.

I estimate that the ideal home gym will run around 10K. While the initial investment might sting a bit, it's roughly equivalent to about 10 years' worth of gym membership fees. The immediate payoff? No more travel time and never having to deal with gym creatures again.

That seems extremely high. I had a power rack, dumbbells, bench along with bars and plates and it was nowhere near that. Then we have an exercise bike and had a treadmill also, way under $10k.
I suppose if you want machines, it’s a different story. But if you are using free weights, you can do this cheaper for sure. And of course, if you only buy new, then the price is much higher.

People getting those 7 in 1 workout machines will easily push 10K.
If you're sniping the basic components (dumbells, plates, bars, rack, bench, bands), maybe buy a few items off of friends or secondhand as well as online, you can get what you need for well under that mark.
Blowing several thousand on a machine that allows for one or a couple pull exercises seems wasteful to me, even though machines are nice. Most are meant for an actual gym.
Decathalon even carries gym steppers for 100-200, I believe. There are loads of good deals for versatile equipment out there.
You don't have to stroll into sport chek or call up bowflex and ask for home gym options only to get hosed on the money side for equipment that takes up too much space.
Also do your research. A lot of machine exercises can be replicated with dumbbells or bands. If you're going to be dedicated enough to make a difference in your form and strength, then it won't be too much work to figure out.

That's all good, but you really have to show them the heel of your hand and how straight you can get your fingers.

RGMG how the City plows a large 2 foot high by 1m wide snow windrow in front of my driveway. This after I’d already cleared the space. So I shovel that out this morning and now I see the plows came around again… makes me think I need a big gas pig truck.

If I don't knock it down within like 12 hours that ridge from the plow starts to harden and become very difficult to remove, especially when it's a big one like you get after that snow storm.
Almost prefer no plowing at all.

Speaking of roads. I always get annoyed when watching a movie and a car chase occurs.
There will always be a scene with a car doing a slide around a corner or something but you can tell it’s the second or third take of the shot as there are previous tire skid marks on the road.
It’s minor but noticeable. I am sorry as you will now never not see it again.

The buttons or sensors on doors in buildings that take a day and a half to actually open the door. The slowness isn't even my issue, and I understand they are there for people who would have trouble otherwise. But since when did everybody lose the ability to use their arms for pushing or pulling? Way too many times I've got places to go but have been stopped dead in my tracks while the person in front hits the button and stands there like a statue while the door creeps open like the mighty gates of a medieval castle. I could have been 15 meters away on the other side if we just did things the old fashioned way.
