46&2 is likely my favorite song from any band, ever. It is unreal.

Full album review:

While it’s nearly impossible to accurately describe such a dense album in only a single listen, my initial feeling is one I’ll never forget. It contains the forward thinking progressiveness and sonic capabilities of their last two albums, but the aggressive instrumental attack of their first two albums, ushering in a new experience that also pulls the band's career together, all while retaining the signature Tool sound. Just when you thought you heard it all, Tool are back to shake things up once again!

The CD version of the album has leaked.
Reactions I’m seeing are overwhelmingly positive.

The in studio versions of Invincible and Descending are amazing.
I just wish they'd cut down the gaps between album releases to less than a decade.

Descending is my favourite track. 7empest is too long, especially because nothing about it stands out.
Overall it's a middle-of-the-road album from them. It's enjoyable but I don't think I'll be coming back to it often.

Interesting take, I actually think 7empest is the best track and overall the album is very very good.

I will reserved judgement until giving it several listens as Fear Inoculum has grown on me after being ho hum on it initially. That said given your avatar I'm having a hard time believing we could get any objectivity from you regarding this album.

Just downloaded full album. About to give it a go. Still haven’t heard a single note of any songs including the singles or live versions. I’m stoked.

I’m curious to hear the extra songs on the streaming version. They couldn’t fit them on the CD but I’m hoping they’re good.

They’re all instrumentals from what I’ve read. Interludes even.

Culling Voices.......man.......I can't even right now. Seriously, starting from Descending all the way to 7empest may be their best work yet. I'm in hog heaven.

the last 4 minutes of Descending are pure magic. Was really excited when Adam Jones first shared that riff on Instagram, but then felt it was a bit wasted when I first heard the live version. But man, the studio version is killer.

Signed up for Tidal last night so I could listen to the record at a higher quality FLAC file. I'm no audiophile so I'm not sure I can tell the difference but still glad I did because the record production is top notch.
It came out around 10:30 PM last night and listened to the entire record. All I can say is that this will require repeat listening but it is a very layered, nuanced record. Even the enhancements between songs seem to fit in well with the entire record. Stand out tracks for me are Pneuma and 7empest. 7empest is absolutely incredible.
Strongly recommend that any fans go for the HiFi Tidal free version and listen to it on headphones in its entirety and uninterrupted.

If you’re not entirely sure you can tell the difference between regular streaming services take an ABX test. Don’t use Tidal’s because I don’t trust that it isn’t rigged. This one should work: http://abx.digitalfeed.net/
Don’t waste your money on Tidal unless the results are conclusive. But trying the free trial won’t hurt.
The production is amazing. I streamed it from my phone though a Chord Mojo to my Audeze LCD-2’s and it’s mind blowing. Gets better with every listen.

They just announced their tour.
https://www.spin.com/2019/08/tool-fear-inoculum-tour/
No Calgary dates so far.
Only Canadian city is TO.
Flames play in LA and Anaheim on October 19th and 20th.
Tool plays in LA on 20th and 21st.
Could be a hell of a road trip.

I enjoyed it very much. Early favourite is Pneuma. As promised my first listen was in a dark room with headphones.

I've shamelessly been listening to the leak for about a week now.
Have to say it gets better with every listen for me.
