The thing about Felix is that he is able to win sets in this instance, where most mediocre players simply cannot, much like some of the best returners in the game today. Compare his year to Novak at 19 and you can see some interesting trends. The big outlier is the 2nd serve and 2nd serve return, which should both get better as he plays more ATP level matches (which it did for Novak).
For me, the takeaway is a very similar statistical spread between the two and Felix is a much more natural server than Novak is/was.
