Yeah, I don't like that analogy.

It's not funny.
It is very unfortunate that the Jets have faced injuries this series.

That being said, I don't think it is irrational for flames fans to feel jilted by the ridiculous media narrative of our players intentionally injuring the opposition, and as such to make jokes about exactly that to vent their frustration.

You might not think it's funny, but I also don't think it's funny that their Head Coach is wantonly accusing our players of not respecting the basic tenants of the game.

No man. That’s not a mouth guard Tkachuk is chewing. He is actually the real Hannibal Lecture and he took Scheifle’s cut off leg and marinated and cured it and coloured and formed it into a mouth guard. That’s the kind of disgusting and vile human being Tkachuk is.

Serious Question:

Is what Maurice said about Tkachuk defamation, could he actually be charged, Tkachuk was publicly & wrongly accused of being a POS and trying to end a man's career in front of the whole world.

Talbot was in a similar situation in 2017. Oilers up 2 games to 1 against San Jose. He was coming off 2 shut outs in a row and then got hammered for 5 goals and pulled after 33 minutes in game 4.

He won game 5 in OT

Talbot is likely making a fair bit of $$ for his UFA contract in November

He signed for 12.5 for 3 years with a NMC after his 2017 playoff run and is playing on a 2.75M show-me contract with the Flames this year.

That's not even a narrative worth considering. Maurice is a loser, and the Flames beat the whiney Jets twice on the ice where it counts. Let them cry one thousand tears and call us dirty. If they can't take a clean check, no amount of complaining to the media is going to save them, but they're desperate, so they're welcome to try.

He's not wrong. We are trying to end their careers. But not by injuring them, instead by showing that they're barely talented enough to belong in the NHL.

As with every ''elimination'' game the Flames are involved with, I'm afraid going into this. However not as afraid as the previous game. Much better to be the team on the other side of the fence for once.

The Jets did well to pull off a victory in game 2, however the lack of depth really showed in game 3. Hellebuyck thankfully looks human. The Jets D sucks. Schiefele's linemates are useless without him.

The Flames' players have said all the right things about remembering how they lost last series vs Colorado. They have said all the right things about wanting the team to take the next step. Well now its the time to prove themselves right; come out and put the nail in the coffin!

Nobody wants to see anyone get injured. That said, hockey is a contact sport and physicality and injuries are a part of the game. It was more in response to the media/fan bias that Calgary has been playing dirty this series. Winnipeg has been unlucky to be sure, but usually the more physical team will be on the giving versus receiving end.

Not suggesting there was anything wrong with your post, but running him doesn't mean hitting him illegally (or at least that wasn't my intent). I will not apologize for any Simpsons references though. That's where I draw the line

Technically Johnny should have won as the Crane kick was an illegal kick.

Really curious to see how tonight's game goes tonight.

Do the flames allow the momentum swing back to, what should be, a very hungry/desperate Jets team, or do they keep momentum and continue the strong play we saw from the 2nd period on from last game.

Go Flames Go!!!

There is a view, non production, where you can see Tkachuk feel regret and surgically reattach the leg. After the surgery Tkachuk triggers again and wrenches the ankle back and forth. It is why in the production view, Scheifele is rolling around on the ice.

I see it as a joke on the internet. I found it quite amusing actually.

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the Flames showed up as the game 2 Flames. The work effort/attention to detail from games one and three should be contagious but I don’t know if it’s in their DNA.

Yeah, this is close to my read on the series as well. I wonder in retrospect if the presence of Laine and Scheifele in Game #2 might have changed the Flames's outlook going in. In the lead-up to that game Kelly Hrudey talked about how much adrenaline and motivation can play a huge role for the underdog in the playoffs. He reflected back on a game while he was with NYI, and they were without Trottier, Sutter, Bossy and a few others in a matchup that—on paper—they had no business winning, and yet prevailed.

I think it is natural for a team to subconsciously be affected by the loss of players to injuries on both sides. But I was very encouraged from Game #3, because it sure looked like the Flames were able to respond with the necessary urgency that they lacked the previous game.

I have often heard this. Can someone explain to me why Daniel Larusso's crane kick was illegal? How did the officials miss that?

Someone said hack the bone. I posted the Lisa Simpson hack the bone pic. It’s not a big deal. No one seriously is suggesting anything.
