Default Flames 6 Jets 2 (Lead Series 2-1)

Game Takes: Flames 6 Jets 2 (Lead Series 2-1)

- Flames powerplay scores 3 times on 4 chances
- Jets 0/2
- Calgary's second line amazing five on five

Love to see the positive response with the quick turnaround between games two and three.

It comes as no surprise as that alteration helped both the player and his line as Backlund recorded a goal and an assist and his line picked up a total of five scoring points.
Not sure where you got this from though, as Backlund led the team in shots with 5 last game, and had a goal on two shots in game one. Tied with Gaudreau for the team lead in shots again today. Agree with your point though about him needing to shoot the puck!

Andrew Copp scored on the power play. The Jets were 1/2.

Maybe game two was an afternoon game thing as they looked more like the team that controlled the majority of the first game than the one that couldn't make even simple passes in game two. I really wish they could do something about giving up the first goal every game as that's going to catch up to them eventually. It sure would be nice for them to put their foot down on the Jets and close this one out in four games.

Great bounce back game from the Flames. I was worried after the first Jets goal, but they came flying back.

One note - I believe you called him "Nicolas Perreault" in the write up - it should be "Mathieu Perreault"

I'm not....that's 11:30 out here. Guess I'll chugging coffee on Friday!

Flames wise, I am very happy too. I don't know what our all time record is for Matinee games, but I'm willing to bet it's closer to .250 than .500

No mention of Talbot playing back to back and 3 games in 4 days having one of the best playoff games for a Flames goalie since Kipper.

Probably too much focus on the putrid performance of the Vezina nominee, at the other end.
