Yup, it's been slowly happening for a few years now. We are lucky that here in YYC we'll continue to see the 747 (400 and 800 series) thanks to Cargolux and Cathay Pacific Cargo being scheduled here.

Has anyone ever visited the Pima Air & Space museum? Worth a side trip if we are down around Tucson? How long a visit should I plan for? I think my boys would dig it as much as I would, wife might be a bit less enthusiastic.

Yes, it's amazing. We were there for a good chunk of a day and I don't think it was enough. I like to read all the plaques/descriptions/etc. and I barely made it out of the first building and then realized there was so much more. I'll definitely go back there again.

Do it! Well worth the time. Was there a couple years ago. (drove there from Mesa) Make sure you have a full day as there is tons to see. And dont miss the boneyard tour.

I was lucky enough to attend on a day where a veteran of multiple WWII bombing raids in a B-17 was there to answer questions. (Colonel Richard B Bushong) Its in the 390th building.
He was amazing! I would have never guessed he was in his 90's. Amazing experience and an honor meeting and speaking with a veteran who was there. Truly a sparkling example of the greatest generation indeed.

A Boeing 737-800 skidded off the runway in Turkey onto the side of a cliff. Fortunately everyone got off safely.

Are we sure he's off the runway? Maybe it's just the camera angle.

Been there three times.

Three hours passes pretty fast if you’re into that sort of thing.

There’s a cafeteria with ice cream if your wife wants to wait it out.

Diversion visitor yesterday, Capital Airlines A330 from Qingdao to Vancouver diverted to us yesterday due to poor weather in Vancouver. Sat on the ground here in YYC for about 70 minutes before departing to YVR:

I had no idea they were doing this, but Lufthansa is introducing a new livery:

Not a fan, miss the absence of the yellow.

^^^ zzzzzzzzzz

All these all-white fuselages (and yes, I know LH didn't have the most exciting livery before, but still)

Not sure if this the appropriate place but Westjet Link delayed 3 months. I have to say Westjet's history at bringing new things to market has not been the greatest lately.

That works here (or the Airport thread). Less blame at WestJet's feet for this one, it sounds like Pacific Coastal may have bit off more than they could chew, and they are having a hard time getting more SAAB 340 aircraft to make this happen.

Did anyone watch that Space X launch today? That has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen. When those booster rockets landed my jaw dropped.

It's being talked about in the Ongoing Science News thread. Incredible stuff, though!
