I'm pretty sure he failed the Lou Lamoreillo medical because his hair and sideburns were to long

Steve Simmons in his latest piece for the Sun is saying that the rumors are the Leafs have something embarrassing for Lupul and if Lupul doesn't play ball, they will release it...

Okay then.

Steve Simmons is such a hack.

He needs to grow out a mustache so he can reclaim his first pride and joy of being the joke glasses face:

Let's just take a moment and remember that although we are stuck with Eric Francis... at one point Steve Simmons worked in Calgary. Things can always be worse.

Yeah I'm not exactly sure how he's managed to stay employed over all these years considering how awful, spiteful, incorrect at times his work has been. I suppose the people running media outlets figure that if enough people don't like you then you are doing something right?

you should be saying that about Lupul right now.
not sure what the leafs have done wrong in this case.

put up or shut up for lupul. if he thinks he's good to play and the leafs are cheating, then go to the union, get the second opinion. explore the options available.
don't just go on instagram and throw out accusations.

From the stated article;

Quote:
The last of our conversations was accidental. Joffrey Lupul answered his cellphone and said hello, thinking he recognized the incoming number.

“####,” he said upon my introduction. “I didn’t know it was you. I have a friend with a similar number. I thought it was him. If I knew it was you, I wouldn’t have picked up.”
Beyond that though, it's actually a pretty good piece and suggests heavily the Leafs are up to some sort of shenanigans.

really? a good piece? it's garbage.

also the piece suggests lupul is in on the shenanigans.

it's just watercooler gossip.

"Word around for some time has been that there is more to this story, that the Leafs have something on the veteran winger. Something damaging they just might release should Lupul become an annoyance to them. Either he was reminded of that on Sunday or an agent reminded him or maybe he just had the sense himself to take the post down."

I saw "It's actually a good piece" so I clicked the link. Nope. If this is a good piece of journalism to you then the Toronto Sun is right up your alley. Also anything written by Simmons should not be called a "piece". "Piece" implies value I think bowel movement would be more accurate.

He makes it sound like he gave Lupul a call recently and had this little accidental convo. Then after talking about this meaningless conversation for 4 paragraphs he mentions that this happened in August 2016. So this pointless lede is really pointless because it happened over a year ago.

He then babbles on and on trying to reach his required word count for this bowel movement. Basically just throwing anything out there to fill the bowel movement.

So Steve Simmons is accusing the Maple Leafs of extortion? About what I expect from Simmons.

Always thought that the Flames pulled something similar with Smid. Probably a legit neck injury and don't know enough but he always seemed to be on the way of a comeback then without playing and just practicing would be out long term again with no real updates. Always seemed to have setbacks when his salary hit and drop in depth chart could be issues for the Flames.

No way. Smid needed spinal fusion surgery after Edmonton said he was fine and he had to privately go get checked out to find the serious issue. The fusion apparently didn't take properly causing more serious flare ups, further surgeries, and eventually retirement.

Smid's neck issues are long documented.

Yeah that last bump that put Smid out wasn't all that hard. His neck was screwed. Was it partially the Flames fault for not catching it earlier? perhaps. But the permanent damage was done under Edmonton and their shady medical practices.
