I'm not sure why you would have expected a great result when you put on the enemies jersey and trolled the streets of Vancouver on the night they lost game 7.

Can you imagine the reaction in Calgary if Edmonton fans were trolling the streets of Calgary wearing McDavid jerseys after a tough, important loss?

This is an underpayment by probably a million dollars.

There would be a lot of name calling?
I like to think, and history has shown, that Flames fans arent neanderthals who burn down telephone booths, destroy store fronts and burn cop cars, or throw people from bridges...

I think the Bruins played it smart.
to get the extra two years, I'm guessing it would have pushed the price up closer to 8 per.

Yeah, clearly they didn't want to go the Draisaitl route and go all in. I recall the Pastrnak kept using it is a comparible.

Nice deal for the Bruins.

Further exposes the Draisaitl overpayment to boot.

I think if Edmonton fans wearing Edmonton jerseys went trolling in Calagry after a spectacular Oilers win, there would be more than "name calling".

It's the word" trolling" that makes the difference.

It's one thing if "enemy fans" are simply going home, it's entirely different if they are "sticking it to you" by trolling.

To be clear, this was years ago. The betrayal had nothing to do with this as it happened a couple years ago. My friend is the Boston fan, I was showing support by wearing the bruins jersey. And of course I'm going to troll Canucks fans. I've lived here since I was four as a die hard flames fan. Opportunities like that don't come up often. It was an amazing night. The memory is now tainted by his betrayal but I cannot lie and say that night wasn't f'n Awesome!

It wasn't like I wasn't cheering my heart out for the Bruins. I hate the Canucks more than Hitler. So I was justified in putting the jersey on. As a Flames fan living in Vancouver I was one game away from the worst day of my life.

I'm way more interested in getting the full story out of Insane_Flame than I am in the Pastrnak signing (which is a good deal at a good price for Boston).

Was it over a girl? A boy? A game of Risk? What is "the worst possible way" someone could betray someone else? Did your friend steal the One Ring from you after a friendly game of riddles?

Sorry I brought it up. To avoid it being brought up any further I'll just tell. I had him pet sitting my great Dane. One evening while my dog was there with him and a mutual friend they were doing cocaine. I don't partake in such things but I have known these people for a long time. Anyway our. Mutual friend told me he just flipped out stabbing my dog in the chest and killing it. He claimed self defense and the mutual friends testimony was not admissible as he admitted to being under the influence. There, happy? Make you jokes now, whatever gives you your jollies. Until you go through something like that you will never know the hurt.

Damn dude, that's horrible.

I still feel the Bruins are being unfairly roped into this situation, but I'd never begrudge someone their grudges after a thing like that.

Gaudreau is a good comparable for Pastrnak. And in my opinion, Gaudreau is a more dynamic player who will have a more impactful career. This contract sounds just about right.

And reiterates, once again, just how stupid the Draisaitl contract was.
