That's actually hilarious.

The hex thing is also consistent with the hail satan gif rituals we pump out here.

We'll just say we struck a deal with the devil to claim what was taken from us in 2004.

Unfinished Business.

After the game we went to cowboys casino, then he disappeared. From what he can remember he was over on the Macleod trail side by the c-train. He is foggy on details at this point, but the nurses at foothills said he was done with the ER and transferred to trauma recovery before 2AM.
Might have been a robbery, at this point he has no clothes, phone or wallet. Maybe the police will fill him in on what happened. People suck.
He borrowed one of my Monahan jerseys to wear to the game. Maybe that was bad luck.

Jeez. Sorry to hear, man. Hope your buddy is ok

Seems like some sketchy freak events happening around town lately. Wasn't there a road rage shooting the other day too? Like wtf.

Hope the guy has a full recovery.

There was indeed, and not far from where I live. One of my wife's coworkers knew the victim.

Scary times.

There's shootings and stabbings all over the place, daily. It's insane in Calgary right now. Reggie28's story of his friend would have been a story in Calgary a few years ago, especially being a Flames fan near the Dome after a game. Now that stuff just happens all the time to the point where only the life threatening and death ones make the news.

There's shootings that make the news every few days, while stabbings are everywhere, every day. So crazy.

When I travel to the EST for business I'm always blown away that there is nothing to watch in the late afternoon with pub beers.

MST gets you that 5pm starts for all the major sports, and if it's a long night more games to fill in until 11pm.

I work in the core, but I just don't see that kind of aggressive behaviour around. Mostly drunk bumblers and whatnot, but nothing like that.

In winter I sometimes ride transit to not have to deal with the roads and I've met a number of seemingly sketchy people from afar who actually were nice and respectful for the most part once I chatted with them.

Maybe its cause I'm usually out of that area by 7pm at the latest but I rarely feel like there's any real threats abound or anything. That's why these incidents still seem pretty "freak" to me.

Are people really getting randomly stabbed on the street daily in this city and most of it is just not given any media attention?

No, people are not getting stabbed daily. That entire post is fear fuelled hysteria. Like many places, the affects of the economic downturn caused by covid, rapidly rising cost of living and the fentanyl crisis have caused an increase in homeless people and crime but the wild stories of Calgary’s downtown turning into a lawless hellhole are completely out to lunch.

The crime isn't downtown chiefly. Try hanging out in Forest Lawn late at night, or catching a late train at Marlborough Station. Then get back to me about ‘fear-fuelled hysteria’.

People who have to live on the east side of the city, you jerk.

But thanks for letting us all know that you don't think poor people are human.
