Dustin Wolf: AHL First Team All Star
Quote:
Dustin Wolf, Goaltender (Stockton Heat):
Northern California native Dustin Wolf has had a remarkable rookie season in Stockton, posting a record of 33-8-4 with a 2.33 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage for the league-leading Heat. A seventh-round choice by Calgary in the 2019 NHL Draft, Wolf did not lose in regulation until Jan. 4 (going 15-0-2 in his first 17 starts of the season), and has allowed two goals or fewer in 32 of his 46 appearances overall. The 21-year-old Wolf, who was named to the AHL All-Rookie team earlier this week, currently leads the AHL in wins, ranks second in minutes played (2,752) and saves (1,308), and is third in save percentage.

I would imagine Wolf is named the AHL's top rookie tomorrow.
Furthermore, my pal down in Stockton informed me today that the first-team all-star goalie has also been named the AHL goalie of the year every season since 1994 (as you would expect).
End of the day, I would not be surprised if Wolf collects all these accolades:
AHL goalie of the year
AHL rookie of the year
AHL first all-star team
AHL all-rookie team
Outside chance at AHL MVP.
He's been outstanding with a capital O.

Hopefully Vladar breaks out next season while backing up Markstrom so that Treliving can trade him for a nice return and make room for Wolf to move up to NHL back-up. Then he'll have a few seasons to cut his teeth backing up Markstrom, kind of the same way Saros was developed in Nashville behind Rinne.
