Barzal could use a change of scenery.

Here are some names I can see the Flames have a look at:

Scott Mayfield, 29 y.o, RD, 1 UFA, $1.45M
Nick Ritchie, 26 y.o, LW, 1 UFA, $2.5M if ARI retains salary.
Erik Gustafson, 30 y.o, LD/RD, UFA. Not a Sutter type but will be a good fit in my opinion.
Cody Eakin, 31 y.o, C, UFA, face-offs 3rd/4th line centre.
Edit:
Tanner Pearson, 29 y.o, LW, 2 UFA, $3.25M… Sutter connection from the Kings, and a lot of friends from VAN.

An entirely new 3rd line. What waste of ice time that third line offered. They were never a threat to score and they couldn't take advantage of the Oilers and Star's depth disadvantage. That was suppose to be the Flames' strength and ultimately, only Backlund's line showed up to keep the last series remotely close.

Darryl needs a new 3rd line, entirely new concept with playoff type players. They don't have to do anything special, preferably cheap, low maintenance, team guy, but their only requirement should be to raise their game in the playoffs and make a positive difference. Off the top of my head, someone like Michael Raffl, that guy pissed me right off seemingly every game. The Flames need an entire bottom 6 of guys like him.

Need speed, at forward and D. If Wolf could accelerate his development by about 2-3 years that would be great as well. This team is going nowhere in the playoffs with Markstrom in net.

Chychrun. I don't think Kyllington, based on his usage, is a Sutter type D yet. Also, Wolf by season end

The third line was a giant disappointment.

I accomplished that feat in Strat-O-Matic Hockey. Traded for all of them!

Gary Roberts in his prime, he’s a prototypical Sutter player.

In reality, we need a center: Vincent Trocheck

His last name includes the word check…c’mon get it done after resigning Gaudreau!

Especially when you look at the opposite in New York with what Cobb and Motte are doing there.

You win some and you lose some.

You just want a line called "The DDT line."
