I believe in the Jays.
|
I figured one of the two tryout goalies would get an AHL deal. Depth in case there's an injury/competition to push the main guys I imagine. I'd be surprised if he plays anywhere but the ECHL. Still a wise move for the org.

Sorry, why did we get rid of Lalande? IIRC, he had an impressive GAA
-edit just read this

seems a bit disheartening after seeing Keetley last night

Yeah we couldn't believe they canned lelande for keets last year. imho Keets isn't that good He over plays things and lets in a ton of soft goals.

It could also help send a message to Keetley that he needs to keep it together. Last year he played his way into a demotion to the ECHL before Lalande got moved. If he continues that piss poor play, Shantz could easily move into a backup role in Abb.

Dan Lacosta got absolutely lit up by Pitts the other night after Garon was great in the first half. Some Columbus press were saying that Lalande was already rumoured to be favoured as third in line and lacosta's donut almost ensured lalande is next in line for the big club if there is an injury.

Where's he from? I met a guy from Brooks whose name was Shantz and I half-jokingly asked him if he was any relation to Jeff (aka the Duke of Duchess, as Mike Toth would say)... he said, 'yeah, he's my cousin'.

He did very well last night. He wasn't a 2nd round pick for nothing; the kid does have a few cards up his sleeve, even if he is considered a bust by NHL standards.

Could have simply been a case of Lalande being ready for the AHL and just spinning his wheels in the ECHL. So Sutter shipped him someplace he could have that opportunity. At the trade deadline, goalie depth is probably more than during the summer.

Did you? I'm not surprised but how did Mike Toth latch onto it?
