I fully planned on getting my pilot's license after undergrad.
Were you in Cape Breton then? watching the crosswind landings above brought back memory's(or nightmares) of learning to fly at YQY and little Margaree, I don't miss that wind.

Yep, still am, although there wasn't a flight school at the time (still isn't). I was looking into Moncton Flight College.

I know a few users here will appreciate this. Recently losing my dream job as well as some of the things said in the mental health thread here on CP has led to me doing a lot of reflecting and research lately about what to do next. Combine that with a lot of late-night chats with my wife, and with some urging from her I decided it's finally time to pursue my other dream of flying.
So I start ground school next week and will be flying in March. Can't wait to get started
Always great to hear about someone chasing a dream! Congrats on taking the step outside your comfort zone. A big shout out, too, to your supportive spouse.

So exciting! Where are you doing your training?

Oh yeah, if it wasn't for her I'd spend the next few years playing video games and watching hockey before deciding what to do next.

Kanata? The DA20's are fun to fly, and they spin real good!
That was a big reason I gave them a call, always thought the DA20 looked cool, and I like the idea of learning on a stick. But also a friend of mine has been going there and has been raving about his CFI (who I think is the owner? Not 100% on that)
The Katana's got much better once they upgraded from the Rotax powered A1 model to the C1 Eclipse and up. You lost the constant speed prop but got more horsepower and speed.
A couple years ago I spent a day in the Diamond factory in Austria, very cool seeing several different aircraft in different stages of build. Lots of custom builds going on.
That seems like an unnecessarily dickish post. Bigtime made the post and corrected it as fake and then you come in two days later to basically insinuate "of course it's fake, you idiot, everyone knows that".
Took a Cessna Caravan flight from Hilo to Kahului on Mokulele Airlines, you get weighed at check-in so they can assign your seating properly for weight and balance.
Insomniac question for folks who know more about such things - I was awake at 1:15 and it occured to me that the plane flying over was kinda loud. So I popped open FlightRadar and it was a Delta 757 on a YEG-YYC route. Which confuses me a bit, I am assuming it is a cargo flight but do they get flight numbers too? Is it just a Christmas thing that Delta is doing cargo flights within Calgary?
I also thought maybe it was for the Lightning but it was a couple hours after the game and it was coming in from YEG.
