Minneapolis PD Suffocate Unarmed Black Man Who Later Dies in Hospital
Disgusting. I watched the video and it's horrifying the casual indifference both cops have to a guy that's clearly in medical distress. Watch them get off with a slap on the wrist like usual.

I'm surprised there's no megathread for these considering how often it seems to happen.

This is sickening. The description is enough for me. I don't need to watch a man die on video today.

Now you see why what happened in Central Park yesterday should be taken much more seriously. Scary place the US is for non-white people.

Video for those who aren't aware of the incident that Galakonokis is referring to.

Fortunately, nothing happened to the black man in this case. The Karen was fired from her job after her company identified her.

I hope there is a full investigation into the incident. I can't believe the policeman had his knee of the guys neck for 7 minutes. So sad!

I believe I saw the dog was taken away as well. Because there was some pretty disgusting animal treatment going on in that video in addition to the entire police violence/race angle.
Meanwhile, in Tulsa, a drunk driver tries to drive through a daycare playground full of kids and is released scott free: https://www.tulsaworld.com/news/loca...6745ff7.html#1
I'll let you guys click on the link for the 'surprise' of what skin color the driver was in this case....

Those cops should be charged with murder.

Being Black in America should not be a death sentence.
For five minutes, we watched a white officer press his knee into a Black man’s neck. Five minutes.
When you hear someone calling for help, you’re supposed to help. This officer failed in the most basic, human sense. What happened on Chicago and 38th last night is awful. It was traumatic. It serves as a reminder of how far we have to go.
For the better part of the night, I’ve been trying to find the words to describe what happened.
All I keep coming back to is this: this man should not have died.
What we saw is horrible. Completely and utterly messed up.
The man’s life matters. He matters.
He was someone son. Someone’s family member. Someone’s friend.
He was a human being and his life mattered.
Whatever the investigation reveals, it does not change the simple truth, he should still be with us this morning.
I believe what I saw and what I saw is wrong on every level.
This does not reflect the values Chief Arradondo has worked tirelessly to fulfill.
To our Black community, to the family: I’m so sorry.

Yup. She was unnecessarily choking out the pup while calling the cops.

There will be, and he'll be suspended with pay without any further discipline after the investigation is complete. This is how things go in Murica when the cop is white and the victim is black.

I watched the video and it was hideous. The way this happens so often, you'd think it's a crime in America to "exist while black."

My foster sons uncle was killed by a cop in Seattle a few years back, shot 4 times in the back as I recall, quiet a famous case up here, the cop was fired as they said it was completely unnecessary shooting but that was all that happened

I am still reminded of this statement every time these events happen. I think similar to Sandy Hook making me realize nothing will change regarding gun restrictions, that the Castilo murder made me realize this was the way life was and no amount of disgusting incidents would change that.
So I am honestly surprised to even see the officers fired so quickly. As much as it is the bare minimum, its a heck of a lot more than has been done in the past.

Not only the cops themselves, but also those further up in command need to be held responsible. That officer should be charged, but what about the people responsible for having him in that position? Accountability for stuff like that can't just stop at the level of the individual offending officer.
