I suspect at the right time Ken Jennings will be named the new host.
RIP Alex. A wonderful representative of our country. Always was proud to make sure everyone knew he was Canadian.
I was watching an episode the other day where the contestant talked about how when they came to NA, as an immigrant, they learned English by listening to Alex and watching Jeopardy. One wonders how many people this was the case for...what a wonderful impact to have on the world. I hope he knew how much he meant to so many people. I suspect he did. Though I think this is the closest he came to showing it:

Jiri I just said that to someone about Ken Jennings. The only guy I can imagine taking over. If at all. This might be one of the few times I hope it does go on. I need jeopardy.
I think Jennings would make a great replacement -- I think he has some of Trebek's qualities for sure. Friendliness, familiarity, a wealth of knowledge. But it'll be really impossible to replace just how good Trebek was at this.

Jeopardy was on all the time growing up and I loved participating and marvelling at just how much these contestants knew. Such a fun show and Alex was one of the greatest game show hosts of all time. A Canadian legend for sure and I’ll miss him big time.
CTV has switched to continuing coverage in memory of Trebek.
