The first episode, he retires from Starfleet and moves to the family vineyard in France. It's just 13 episodes a year of Picard kicking back, growing grapes, and making wine. Absolutely no space stuff ever happens.

My family knows ever'thing there is to know 'bout the grapin' bidness.
Anyway, like I was sayin', grapes is the fruit of the vine. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, grape-kabobs, grape-creole, grape gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple grape, lemon grape, coconut grape, pepper grape, grape soup, grape stew, grape salad, grape and potatoes, grape burger, grape sandwich... That- that's about it.

Alex Kurtzman is still the show runner for this folks. Manage yer expectations....
Stewart is an executive producer, and from what I've read there are several different writers contributing to the series, none of which are Kurtzman. Also, Stewart apparently had a pretty big voice in the writing process. That gives me hope that this show will be decent.
