I was just expecting an entertaining story, not a drawn out art piece where nothing happens. I watched the final years ago, and I can't remember anything of note that happens other than the main guy may-or-may-not be a robot

I have watched Blade Runner a few times ( different cuts) I saw original and directors cut.
I watched this version today and I admit I’m not fully versed
in BR lore however, what was different? I did not catch the changes as I did in Apocalypse Now Redux.

There's 2 kinds of people. People who enjoyed Her and people who don't understand science fiction.
There I said it.

I just watched “I’m Thinking of Ending Things”. I need to watch it one or twenty more times to completely figure it out.

I knew nothing about Blade Runner until I started watching it a few nights ago. I will finish it tonight - my thoughts so far... it’s boring

A major part of the appeal is the atmosphere it creates. It's partly historical too. It was way ahead of it's time in 1982. Some of the big moments definitely don't pack the same punch anymore. A lot of the ideas that were fresh even the movie came out have no been redone to the point of parody.

Luckily it clicked for me at the end of the first watch, but man, what a hard movie to get through. I almost shut it off halfway.

Just started Ozark, so yeah that's depressing.

I knew people would insult me for not thinking Bladerunner is the most awesome movie of all time, OMG. I'm actually surprised it was only two people. I've tried watching it several times over several decades and I honestly always fall asleep. I remember it looking like you are watching it through dirty yellow-tinted glasses, a chick with a robot snake because real ones are too expensive, and Decker (can't believe I remember his name) doing emotional response robot testing on some dude's assistant. That's it. Does anything else happen in that movie? I don't know. There might be something, I just always fell asleep.
You know, it is okay that some people don't enjoy exactly the same movies, tv shows, or food that you do. If someone tells me they don't like vermicelli and have never finished a bowl, I'm like okay. I don't say well KD makes some pasta you would like.

Oh I’m being intentionally pretentious. I’m fully aware blade runner isn’t for everyone. But like 2001, There Will Be Blood and Seven Samurai, they don’t always hold up for modern audiences but there’s no denying these are key movies in the evolution of cinema.

I think I like Ridley Scott's work a lot more than most people. I can't get enough of Raised by Wolves, and I loved Prometheus. Also loved the Blade Runner sequel. A lot of people get annoyed that Scott doesn't always finish his ideas and leaves a lot to interpretation. For me, that adds to his work. For example, I really loved all the questions in Prometheus and when they hapharzardly tried to explain them in Covenant, I thought it really took away from Prometheus.

I never said it wasn't an influential movie. Neither did you. You simply stated EVERYONE must IMMEDIATELY watch this 3rd minor revision of a movie.

Only two episodes in Raised by Wolves is ####ing awesome. It started uneven and I was thinking, what is this seems rather generic. And then......

Who cares?
It’s an amazing cut of an amazing movie and it’s great that it is being discovered by new viewers. Watch it, don’t watch it, cancel Netflix out of spite. Whatever works for you.

Ok, I didn't know this about Cobra Kai.
The episode that featured Johnny reuniting with his old Cobra Kai buddies to have one last good day with Tommy.
Rob Garrison the actor that played Tommy died late last year after a long fight with kidney and heart disease.
Makes that episode really poignant.
