Kalispell to Chicago - $200 roundtrip after taxes - any date
While I do watch for interesting fares out of Montana, the truth is that it's pretty rare to see one that's worth the drive. Allegiant Air has cheap flights to Vegas, but on the major airlines, prices from Montana aren't usually significantly better to warrant the 5 hour drive from Calgary. We're not like Toronto where we can hop across the border to Buffalo. Flying out of the U.S. for us is a significant investment of time.
But today, Delta dropped the price of their flights to Chicago by more than 70%, in one of those across the board drops affecting virtually every date in the calendar. Considering that flights from Calgary to Chicago tend to hover around $600ish or more, it could be worth the drive for some.
When one of these unadvertised across the board drops happens, I always like to check Christmas first, which is usually the last dates any airline ever wants to drop in price.

Another interesting one would be for the 2012 Lollapalooza festival held the first week of August in Chicago. Likely to be held August 3-5 in 2012.
Here's an example of that search:

The price from Calgary? $763.
Basically try any date you want for the upcoming year. How long will it last? As you know by now if you're following my posts, it's impossible to say.
Anyways, I realize road-tripping it to Montana for a flight is not for everyone, which is why I would only ever post when something really interesting catches my eye. It could be useful for a group of friends or family that wants to combine it with a road-trip to Montana, or Calgarians that have a vacation property down there.
