That is a good hire, he will get the best out of that group. Say what you want about Babcock the person but he is a top tier coach.

This feels like a “win now” hire, perhaps a certain team can relieve them of some of those cumbersome draft picks for some short term success… the best kind of success.

Babcock won't ever make the same mistake he made with Toronto as he knows he'll be exposed this time around but you know Gaudreau won't appreciate the pressure. This should be interesting.
I do wonder why seemingly good people with good reputations, like Pres Davidson, would hire a guy like Babcock. They couldn't be more different in personality. What an odd choice.
