Well, last years new years ever was horrible. I was dumped by my boyfriend and ended up sitting in my apartment watching really boring countdown shows. So this year, my friends and I made plans to go and visit my friend in New York. I am really excited. I have never been there before so it should be a really good time!

One of the advantages of moving close to where a lot of my friends live; a house party always works well.
Plus I can drink as much as I feel like and can just walk 5 minutes home.

I love how they do it in Germany. Everybody is usually at big house parties. At midnight, the entire country goes outside and lights fire works and drinks champagne. It is amazing to see.
Might not work as well in Canada where it is usually too cold.
I spent one crazy New Years Eve in Quito Ecuador. It was kind of like a Mardi Gras street party.

Well, I'm not too sure yet... But I'll definitely report back as to how the Romans party on NYE.
With the 8 hour time difference, I'll probably just be walking in the door as you guys and gals are heading out to party. Wait, hopefully I won't be...

I'm hosting a big party in Toronto the night before so I'll probably just head to bed early as I have to fly back to Calgary early the morning of 1 January.

looks like I'll be coming back up to Halifax to spend it at a classmate's. She's planning a semi-formal thing should be good times. One of my best friends just broke up with their significant other and doesn't want to spend NYE at home, so they're comin' with it seems.
Last year sucked, just chatted in my kitchen, missed the countdown (lame I know) and it kicked off one of the worst years I've had to deal with, so this year's is not only ringing in 2006, but kissing 2005 goodbye, and giving it a kick in the ass on its way out the door.
New Year's never lives up to the hype, so I suggest getting away with a few friends and just partying. If you're in the area that you always are, everyone will want to do something "special" and you won't get to spend it with all the people you usually party with, let alone make it "special". Cut your losses and not worry about "Is Jimmy, Sally, or Sue coming to this party after that other one, whose party do we have to go to next, etc"

Rented a chalet (2 actually, complete with 2 hot tubs) on a ski hill with 15 other lunatics.
I don't plan on riding.
Thank god it's not on my credit card.
(I will throw in however that if it snows I won't be drinking, as I will have a couple sleds with me)

A buddy invited us over for a fire in the backyard, if it's too cold we will just hang out in his basement and get ripped. I was also told by my mother that I should come up and visit them in Edmonton for New Years as my sister from Vancouver will be there, I would rather stay here.

One New Year's Eve! Wow, talk about jerk sauce. Have fun in New York, my wife is pestering me to take her back there.
I don't know what we'll be doing yet, I assume a house party with friends preceeded by a nice dinner at home.
