Lots of great scenes, great pacing. I enjoyed it from start to finish.

Did not see that ending coming, really looking forward to where they go from here.

I thought IG-11 was going to be a companion through out the show but it was pretty cool to see him save the baby. This is a bounty hunter unlike Boba Fett, although they both seem to suffer from a traumatic childhood event, The Mandalorian has a pretty big conscious.

(And yes I know Boba Fett is not a Mandalorian)

The opening scene was a too on-the-nose homage to Ep 4, the first bounty's perfect English was jarring, and the whole blurrg taming scene was hokey, along with the music during the ride, even knowing this series is a return to the spaghetti western themes of Ep4.

Other than that it was solid, and I loved Werner Herzog, the carbonite collection, the use of real locations, models, puppets and masks, and the ending.

Also, a cool opening vanity plate for star wars, with colored lights strobing across the reflective masks/faces of many characters.

Agree it felt a little weird the first bounty spoke such perfect English.

What’s the timeline on this again? After ep vi?

It was kinda cool to see the storm troopers a little dirty and worn, like they would be if leaders of the empire were in hiding, protected by a few loyal troopers.
I liked the outlaw feeling of it all.

i laughed when he was walking thru the town and passed the kowakian monkey-lizard (salacious crumb) on a rotisserie ... and yea... i totally had to look up 'kowakian monkey-lizard'

i loved seeing the mandalorian rifle (with the prongs) get used... made me smile (cringe) as i thought back to the christmas cartoon all those years ago!

looking forward to more episodes of the show

I really liked it but I am a little worried they’re going to try create a Yoda knock off with that baby.

really high quality for a television series. Looks like they have access to all the CG assets from the movies, which is probably why the quality is higher than i expected. excited to see where this goes

Pretty solid opening entry, good not great. The ending was a nice surprise.

The lead character gets surprised by a large ugly monster Star Wars trope can go away please.

Freaking great as far as I’m concerned.

Taming the riding beast was a little lame but everything else was awesome.

Good use of practical and CG effects.

I hope there’s a lot more of this.

I really liked it. It's nice to be in the Universe without too many attachments. Could have done without that being a Yoda species at the end though.

The IG unit made me laugh. Total bad ass robot, self destruct at first sign of problems. It was interesting to see how they work since we really only just saw IG-88 standing there in Empire.

It makes me feel nerdy that not only do I know the name Salacious Crumb, but that I know he's a Kowakian Monkey Lizard. That BBQ scene with the other one in the cage was funny, but also kind of ####ed up.

Also, this really drives home that I still love Star Wars, I just hate the movies.

Is the stuff with Mandalorian’s armour and that metal he got from the empire canon? If yes, anyone know where from? I think the blacksmith lady mentioned his sigil or something?

Or is this new to the show?

I’d prefer not to just read an explanation here or on a wiki.

I really liked it.

The fact that he is trying to get an actual Mandalorian suit of armor is cool. We know from Clone Wars that the Mandalorian's are kind of a lost people. They had a warrior/mercenary background that was replaced by a pacifistic government and then we saw towards the end that Death Watch kind of took things over and by the time that Rebels came around they were back to their warring/armor wearing selves.

There's no doubt that they're trying to make the hero like the man with no name spaghetti Western type of character, right down to the fact that he umm has no name and we don't see his face. Suprisingly though this works as this Bounty Hunter unlike Boba Fett has a sense of humor and a sense of snark, there's also a lot of humanity that goes against Star Wars' generalization that Bounty Hunters were the evil sleazy underside of the under world of the GFFA.

I also liked the grimy looking Storm Troopers, and the question comes, this is 10 years after the fall of the Empire. Do they represent the coming First Order? Was The Client and the Doctor members of the Imperial Remnant? The First Order? Or were the Storm Troopers merely mercenary thugs?

Overall this first episode was all about world building, and the world was gorgeous. but because of that the action seemed a little slow and muted, Which is something that Dave Filoni was guilty of once in a while and this was his episode.

I did feel though that some of the guest stars were a bit wasted in their roles as unrecognizable characters.

But overall, I though this was pretty cool.

Beskar armor came from the Legends EU, but became Canon in the Clone Wars series, then later in Rebels a nearly indestructible metal that can stop blaster shots, and made the Mandalorian's excellent Jedi Killers because it could in theory disrupt a lightsaber blade. In Clone Wars Sabine took a blaster shot to her head and survived.

Its extremely rare and only found on Mandalore. When he was offered a ton of it, I assume that the Empire strip mined Mandalore for it and that's why Mandalore armor is patchworks of Beskar and ordinary armor.

Also its important to remember that the Empire had developed a weapon that turned Beskar armor against its wearer.

The Signet is probably a Clan representation, remember that Sabine was clan Wren, So we might find out which clan the Mandalore belongs to and maybe the reason why he hasn't exposed his signet is that he belongs to clan Vizla, who sold Mandalore out to Darth Maul.
